Madame Shade is one of the main antagonists in Demon, Arise. With her charismatic prowess and hones Demonic powers, she's an enemy nobody wants to make.

Madame Shade stands at 5'7" tall, with an average build. Her skin is ghostly pale and her features are sharp, menace lurking within ice-blue eyes. Her raven-black hair is shoulder length with purple undertones.

Cold, quiet and calculating, Madame Shade is the perfect manipulator of masses. Trust with her is rarely gained and easily lost, and most of the time she's already planned an individual's demise, friend or foe. All loose ends are best tied up and silenced as soon as possible, in her eyes.

Edivid Mazcre was born in the Necromancer Cloister of Lancashire, around the mid-1800s. Edivid had become disillusioned with the Necromantic teachings and was more interested in the common enemy- Demons. From their physiology to their supernatural powers, Edivid studied all she could about them, how to best fight them, kill them, and about the labyrinths within the Surge books. She studied the labyrinth of Abaddon most of all, the Apocalypse King's powers and gifts particularly piquing her interest. When she left the cloister in search of a different life, she recruited her distant cousin to establish a Church of Abaddon in the South West of England. Edivid had a few children around this time, all born to different fathers (who all mysteriously vanished)- Violet, her oldest, Edanna, and Aineco, her youngest. Between Edanna and Aineco's births, Edivid took the plunge and dove into Abaddon's realm, managing to make her way through to deal with the Demon himself. Her followers' worship only strengthened seeing her as the hand of Abaddon himself, and she was soon joined in Demonhood by her Cousin and his partner. Edivid has lived comfortably for many years overseeing her cult, even as two of her three children have become estranged from her, but her rule has become challenged by her cousin's attempts to betray her and resurrect the Morningstar.
