Childhood
"Maybe there's a family out there looking for their daughter who didn't come home one day. Maybe there isn't."
Cripes does not have any memory of her childhood, or anything before being a Reborn. She is searching for those answers where she can. Answers are hard to come by when you don't even know where to start. More so when anyone who will speak to you also has utterly no idea what to do with you.
Pre-Adventuring
"I woke up in someone's trash pile. I left."
Roughly six months ago, Cripes woke up in a pile of corpses, some intact, others not. Disoriented with no memory of who she was—not even a name to call herself by—she scrambled out of the building she found herself in and into the surronding woods.
A few days later, she stumbled into a nearby village one night, hoping to ask for help. She met an older woman, tried asking for help, only for her to scream about a monster and to flee from her. Cripes started calling herself "Cripes" shortly after; she needed a name, and that was something the old woman had said that sounded like it could be a name. It wasn't a name, but it was close enough. That same night, she ran into the woods once more. She found a stream, and finally saw what the old woman had.
Bright red eyes and fangs, most of her ears replaced with those of a fox. Barely healed incisions covering her ashy and lifeless skin. Hybrid of humanoid and fox, a victim of a failed experiment, something crawled from a nightmare.
Since then, she has spent her time avoiding most towns and cities, only venturing into civilization when she must. She wishes to know who made her into this and what she knows before, but those answers continue to elude her.
