Boris Py.

Boris is a childhood friend of Wilhelmina they are very close and see each other as family (tho not rlly as siblings, despite being practically raised together).

Boris was raised/adopted by Wil's aunt after his parents died in a keyaa anomaly disaster when he was 4. He doesn't really remember his parents and considers Wil's aunt his mom, so he doesn't have that much emotional turmoil about it. Though he does feel out of place sometimes because of it, looking so dissimilar to his mom and others he considers his family. (tho I prommy there's other gastropod guys in derrodas like. Boris isn't visually a freak in-universe LOL.....). 

Apart from that his childhood was normal enough per the average common-born creature living in Derrodas. When Pyridekk established itself in Derrodas, Wil and his family (among many other Derrodas locals) jumped at the opportunity for protection from keyaa-anomaly, and sought to join the clan someway. Boris's mom was able to get into Pyridekk with her ice magic, which is a rare order (tho she had been largely untrained to that point bc of it).  Wil was able to get her and her father in with her ground magic capabilities (tho her dad is orderless) and with Boris's mom vouching for her personally.

Boris is ground ordered and works at Pyridekk to support his mom/family, but he's a bit below average in magic aptitude tbh.  He does other non-magic related jobs around Pyridekk because of this moreso, particularly with record-keeping. He's kind of everyone's errand boy tbh. He doesn't have much issue with this tho, mostly he just wants to be helpful. Tho since Pyridekk's culture as a clan is so wrapped up in magic-aptitude, being constantly entrenched in this culture has given him some self-worth issues over time.

Personality notes

• Nerd alert, uses big words and is fairly talkative, but has a lot of social anxiety so generally doesn't offer his opinion/speak-up unless asked or spoken to first.
• Despite the social anxiety, is generally more extroverted, likes being around others and seeks connection. Vs Wil who's much more of an introvert and doesn't mind being alone a lot.
• Cautious and analytical. Likes to write things down to remember and keeps a diary. Detail-oriented with a good memory.
• Bit of a doormat/cowardly. He's on the smaller/frailer side for creatures (and is literally soft bc of like. he is snail/worm lol). Has a hard time saying no to others and can easily get ordered around. He tries to avoid trouble/getting on creature's bad sides. He just wants to have a normal time and stay in his lane mostly (and then gets dragged into plot shenanigans by Hyun and then Wil
• Protective over Wil, especially since Wil is a bit socially dense + generally more optimisic/trusting of others than he is. He is also slightly older than her and never lets her forget this lmfao. Wil bullies him about this bc she is a great deal bigger/stronger than him (and truthfully, he wouldn't be able to do much if Wil was in actual danger
