Profile

Somewhat insecure Magical Girl that used to be a thematic duo with Fidget Spinner, but broke off the team due to interpersonal conflict. The two were amicable enough to start, but did not know each other until getting their powers and had to learn to get along on the job. Eventually Wendy decided she had put up with her partner's reckless ways and poor judgement for too long and split things off.

She tried being a solo for a while like her former partner, but found she wasn't as successful at it. Rather than quit patrolling, she opted to join the non-thematic Team Laundry. While Wendy felt much more safe as a magical girl with this new team, and as much as she preferred their attitude, she also found herself sinking into the background and having a hard time opening up to the rest of the group. And, too, she felt her old insecurities from working with Fidget Spinner about her own powers not being cool or flashy enough flaring up, next to all these girls with fanciful, exciting powers. Yeah, swords are plenty cool, being a magical girl at ALL is awesome! But it's hard for Wendy to feel like she belongs in a group of misfits when her powers are so... normal.

Overall, Wendy has competent enough ability, but her struggles with self-doubt as a result of her current circumstances are giving her a lot of trouble lately, leading to what she feels is a downward spiral. It's all the consequences of her own thoughts and decisions, after all!

TRIVIA/DESIGN NOTES

  • This character was originally an iteration of Circle Saber ported to the Sleepless Domain universe, but has since evolved into her own design, so I've separated the two.
  • Wendy can be a shortened form of Gwendolyn, which comes from Gwen (white, pure, blessed) and Dolen (meaning ring or loop). Wendy also looks/sounds a bit like "to wind", as in winding up for a spin.
