An arcanist's work exhibited in the 1950s for 23 years. Born in Winter, on January 6th. First exhibited in Rochester, New York, USA, then later in Henrietta, NY, USA. The exhibit is now in the collection of the St. Pavlov Foundation.

Story

Puppy Love (0% Bond)

Love is a powerful emotion. 

It is the one feeling that can make or break anything. It can build empires, full of light and prosperity. Yet, it can also destroy lives, where everything that was cultivated is set up for doom, creating dark ruins from what once was something beautiful.

A junior in high school searched high and low for that perfect fairytale romance that she held so dear to her heart. After attempt and attempt of being met with nothing but hurt feelings and unrequited love, she still never gave up. Finally, she met someone who shared the same feelings, her heart soaring with glee as she finally began her adventure for a fairytale romance with a partner by her side.

I spoke with the neighbor who had placed the call when I got to the house. The call was placed because the neighbor claimed to have heard glass breaking and sounds of shouting, yelling, and weeping coming from the house. According to the description, Chad, 25, and Beverly, 17, were a couple who lived at the address. Beverly has occasionally been spotted in public with various bruises all over her body.

I attempted to interview Chad, who seemed to be intoxicated. When asked what happened, he said that Beverly had attempted to sneak out of the residence. He was under the suspicion that she was trying to meet another man behind his back, to which he interrogated her. He believed she was lying and that she was faking crying in order to gain sympathy, which led to his anger getting out of control. As the other officer attempted to calm him down, I tried to find Beverly.

She was eventually found underneath the bed in the bedroom. After she was gently coaxed out of her hiding spot, I managed to get some words out of her. From what I could gather, she attempted to sneak out in order to get away from Chad’s drinking, and this wasn’t the first time he had accused her of cheating. Once she had told him that she wanted to get some fresh air, he began to belittle her, as well as attempt to hurt her physically. She said she ran to their bedroom and hid underneath the bed in order to escape him.

Cinderella: …I’m sorry, I don’t know which part you’re referring to…

Pandora Wilson: The best place to start when it comes to that is when you ran away, correct? It’s rumored that you left your shoe behind.

Cinderella: Oh, that? Yes, that isn’t necessarily a secret. I have no clue if they know why I ran, but I know my truth.

Cinderella: I don’t plan on running away from getting married again. Next time I try to get that far, I’ll know what signs to look for.

Pandora Wilson: You seem to have a rather positive outlook despite everything.

Cinderella: There was a lesson I learned from all of it. Before you can really love someone else, you must learn to love yourself first. Only then can you know your self worth and know that you matter.

Pandora Wilson: How sweet… May I ask about the shoe again?

Cinderella: Did I cause us to go off topic? I’m sorry… Yes, I accidentally left it behind. That tends to happen a lot with me…

History

Once Upon A Dream

Every little girl has her dreams of a fairytale romance, and Cinderella was no different. Ever since she was small, she hoped to find the one and have a beautiful romance blossom. After spending her earlier years searching, she found an older human who treated her like a princess, showering her with love and affection left and right… until one fateful evening where everything took a turn for the worst.

This Isn't Love

She had caught her lover cheating on her with another woman, who seemed to be rather reluctant about the entire situation. Cinderella decided to be the bigger person and forgave both the other girl and her lover, hoping that their relationship could be repaired over time, but that didn’t happen. Instead of learning to rekindle a broken love, Cinderella learned how to hide from her lover when he was angry and intoxicated, avoiding beatings to the best of her ability. Suddenly, she reluctantly accepted an engagement ring, and she started hoping things would get better again.

Abandoning the Altar

The day of their wedding soon arrived, and before anyone could say their “I do’s”, Cinderella ran away from the altar, accidentally leaving one of her shoes behind. She ran as fast as she could to finally get away, and it worked. Cinderella then began to learn how to start loving herself, rebuilding her image from a small, scared little girl who was expecting to get hurt once more to a beautiful young lady who is strong just as much as she is kind. Upon the town finding out she left her shoe behind when she ran away, she earned the nickname “Cinderella” as a way to poke fun, but she now wears that name with pride.

A soft knit shawl which is white as snow and has been a source of comfort for years. Whether it’s being snuggled at night or being a makeshift shoulder to cry on, it has always been a very reliable friend for someone who felt so alone.

The shoes that were intended to be used for a lovely day where the love of two people combine into one with a beautiful ceremony wound up being the shoes that carried the bride far, far away from the altar. One slipped off during the process, but it successfully reunited with the other shoe over the course of time.

Birthday Letter

1. Her special day was a day that was always celebrated quietly, sometimes, not even celebrated at all. Such a quiet, shy girl like Cinderella really didn’t want to make a huge fuss out of it…
2. Normally, Cinderella would spend her birthdays alone, so imagine her shock when her friends got together and threw a surprise party for her. The sight of lovely decorations as well as a heart shaped cake was enough to move her to tears.
3. Nothing but pure happiness filled Cinderella as she finally had a good party with her friends, giving her a small taste of all the platonic love her friends shared for her. That alone was enough to have her do the exact same thing for their special days as a way to say thanks.
