Jophiel

Name: Jophiel of the Association

Age: Takes the mortal form of 25 years. Has lived several centuries.

Personality: A kindly angel who has been born of compassion. He is a very compassionate angel and has nearly no forms of selfishness. He is well respected, known for his wisdom and experience upon the battlefield. Although he is known for his kindness, in battle against those who stand danger towards the Association, he is known for having little mercy upon the battlefield. Jophiel is the angel upon of Judgement, and therefore is known for his wise sense of justice, and his ability to always hear the sides of a debate equally.

Info on His World: Jophiel lives in a world of where divine beings (eg: angels, demons, werewolves, druids, et cetera) hide away from the humans who vastly outnumber them. He leads a group known as the Association which is in charge of making sure minimal humans find out about these divine beings and have been tasked to the business to killing the anomalies and evil spirits rising from the forbidden pits of Tartarus even the demons have been known to hate. The Association is lead by an angel and demon pair known as the High Alpha Pair and they are the most powerful in combat.

Backstory/Bio:

Jophiel was created out of compassion, similar to his mother, who was of unselfishness whilst his father was of wisdom. As a young child his parents supported him in his education within the Association, and was nearly constantly reminded of his duties as an angel. He was born during the time of the war between humans and the divine ones. Even angels were tasked into the battle by the order of God; given permission to kill whoever posed threat to their society of the divine ones. As he grew up his father was away often as one of the generals of the Association. At first the young angel had worried his father would never return, but as his father continuously returned with only a few cuts and bruises every other month, he found himself relaxing.

At least until his father didn't return for months.

His mother claimed his father was on a difficult mission, and Jophiel grew up until he was ten years old before his mother found the reason to break news to him. An angel could only feel the occasional 'bad' emotions, and those were only when something terrible and life changing occurred. The grief crashing over Jophiel was something so terrible and emotional tearing that he almost lost his own spirit of compassion.

Eventually his mother convinced him to continue his studies, and Jophiel then realized his father would want him to continue his life. As the war raged on, Jophiel turned 20 years of physical age, and became the top of his classes as well as the angel's rankings. He was assigned a demon named Carthel as his partner, who was a demon of the spirit of uncaring. They would banter playfully often, but they each respected each other. As the war continued to rage on, Jophiel was assigned at first to clearing off the deserters in the human army. His first kill was terrible. At first he had been disarming and disabling the humans to let Carthel kill them, but at one point Carthel was struck down and they were immediately swarmed. Jophiel's inner ability, known as the 'core power' of an angel, revealed itself just then, shockingly early for an angel that young. His core power was defined as the Angel of Justice, which had punished the human soldiers with their sins and thus killed them.

Even though the humans had deserved it, Jophiel felt mentally broken like when he had realized his father had been killed. He was assigned to guard duties along the fortress walls, and Carthel made sure to never be struck down again. Eventually, the war ended as the current High Alpha Pair ordered their retreat.

Jophiel continued a rather dull life of managing human memories and werewolf imprints. His life was pleasant and enjoyable, but not as life stirring or adrenaline rushing. He realized that life was either going to be fairly boring and safe, or exciting and dangerous.

As he was promoted up with Carthel to anomaly duty, they were in charge of keeping the anomalies, evil entities, at bay and away from the Earth. The moments there were always busy and exhausting, but so exciting. The ability to feel powerful and helpful always excited Jophiel and he spent about two centuries in this job.

After Carthel's death due to unexpected anomaly attacks, he was assigned a newer demon named Polaris, the demon of greed. They never got along as well as he had with Carthel, and when Polaris was reassigned a new angel after they had been confirmed as a non match, Jophiel never missed her.

Jophiel was promoted to the ranks of part of the High Alpha Pair, a match to a demon named Tyaop, a demon of power hunger. They got along fairly well and Jophiel began to understand the works of the society and how things worked. He became wiser and spent two centuries with Tyaop.

After Tyaop died of another anomaly attack. Jophiel was assigned a demon named Yupqw, who had a demon child named Viperstar. Although he tried to be kind to the young demon he was always rejected with a strong huff. Yupqw and him never clicked properly, but they respected each other and could work properly side by side.

After Yupqw was challenged to a duel to the death by Viperstar. Jophiel couldn't bring himself to watch the brutal battle, as angels would choose their leader by negotiations and voting, unlike demons who would duel to the death. As Viperstar came out victorious, Jophiel finally found another click with this young demon. He began to do his best to teach her what Tyaop had done, and often bantered with her often similarly to how he had with Carthel many centuries ago.
