Profile

*A lot of Sajr's lore has to do with Pippaf geography so I'm just gonna link the pippaf world map lol

General lore (WIP)

  • God that inhabits The north, but predominantly the south/north border, patrols The Wall for reasons unknown to creatures.
  • Those crossing The Wall fear encountering Sesmat. It is said you must cross the The Wall always in a group of at least two, since one creature must have their eyes on the sky, watching for The writhing form and blood-red head of Sesmat amidst the clouds. Sesmat doesn't always attack/chase off those trying to cross, but it happens often enough for those to hide at any sighting of them. Landcrossings of the wall and borders of the wall are dotted with numerous shrines to Sesmat, offering blood at these shrines can make safe passage more likely.
  • Sesmat is the god's common name (given to them by creatures), meaning "Bloodwing". Sesmat's original godstongue name is Sajr, meaning "Tend".
  • Like most gods, Sajr's physical appearance is fluid, both in size and shape. Sajr tends to prefer to be at least 4x the size of the average creature, large enough for a creature to ride on their back, persay.
  • Sajr was deified post the chaos-balance wars, among the few Kretyaa survivors, deified a significant time after the chaos-balance wars had concluded. Before being deified, they intermixed and lived among creatures for a time. Sajr is more partial to creatures than many gods/kretyaa, since they owe a great debt to a group of creatures who helped them (these creatures have long since died, in modern times).
Blood contracts
  • Sajr's godly inclinations are related to blood and blood contracts. Sesmat is drawn to blood, and if blood is offered to them, a creature can command them to fulfill a wish. This cancels/is null if not enough blood is offered  AND/OR  Sesmat is physically incapable of fulfilling the wish (they are not all-powerful by any means LOL). Sesmat must obey a wish (if they are physically capable) even if they emotionally don't want to do whatever the creature is asking. Goes into a sort of trance until contract is fulfilled, tho is still able to communicate during this trance-state (generally).
  • Over the years, Sesmat has many times served as a sort of unwilling mercenary, and served many power-hungry individuals. The most bloodshed tends to happen during wars/sacrifices after all. Sesmat cannot be outright summoned, however, only lured out. Sajr tends to go periods where they try to refrain from interacting with creatures, then eventually cave and/or get lured out. Sesmat has been known to kill those they serve once they break free of the blood-contract previously established.
  • Sajr doesn't see their blood contracts as wholly bad, and enjoys making contracts with individuals who are not cringe. Sajr enjoys contracts surrounding protection the most, as this was their original purpose of deification.
  • A new star gets added to their wings for every blood-contract taken.

Personality/Trivia
  • Sajr has an intense sense of loyalty, and will do their utmost to repay any kindness their way.
  • Sesmat is capable of intelligent speech (unlike some corrupted gods). Though their ability to speak sometimes deteriorates when under a blood-contract trance.
  • Sajr enjoys poetry/literature, both writing and reading.
  • They are a stable enough god (despite being corrupted) that they can hide their keyaa-aura and present as a creature. They do this occasionally to mingle with creatures without the creatures knowing. Mostly just to enjoy being among others, go to a library, participate in a festival, etc.
  • Sajr is a favorite of Suoha's despite Sajr rarely visiting the undervoid.
  • Sesmat's howling can be heard for 10s of miles and shatter eardrums at close distance. Sesmat will sing at dusk (which doesn't shatter eardrums, but can still be heard at the same distance bc god magic idk), those at the border consider this the official marking of the day ending.
  • Those (few) who have gotten close to Sajr know that they are a worshipper of Erars, despite the frustrations they hold for the other god.
  • Sajr was initially sided with UjajU during the chaos-balance wars, but later switched sides to Okkjuk (they were only Kretyaa during this time)
