Lauri

Once upon a time everything was coming up roses for Lauri, she was on the road with her beloved bandmates, making music, playing out each night to legions of adoring fans, all alongside the love of her life Desmond. Until the tour bus stopped in her buttfuck nowhere hometown to play a show for like twelve dedicated fans, all because their producer suggested it. She had been so eager to leave it behind in her youth, and was dreading the homecoming parade her mother was throwing. 

Actually he was rather insistent they play here, but she couldn't figure out why. And what was even stranger, is that right after they played that night, Desmond never came back to the tour bus. Sure, the band had partied a little after the show, that was normal, but Lauri knew something was weird. At first, she considered he went off and cheated on her, but that didn't make much sense because if either of them was interested in a girl they usually just invited her for a threesome. No, this was definitely something else. 

They waited around all day for him, totally ruined their tour schedule, and he still didn't show up. Then the sun went down. Still no sign. The days kept coming and turned into weeks. Lauri was so panic stricken she returned home and slept in her childhood bedroom for a semblance of comfort. Her little brother still lived at home and did his best to cheer her up, and she appreciated him. Their mom was warm and friendly in a false way, but that was typical for her. 

The cops were suggesting that maybe Desmond got drunk and hopped on a bus heading outta town and ended up lost or something, which was stupid. No, Lauri knew the truth, she had known right from the moment he didn't show up that night, Desmond was dead. And she would figure out why, even if no one believed her. Even if no one cared. Even if their band fell apart without her. She had anticipated her investigation would be dangerous, but she didn't think anything demonic would be involved.
