Design Notes

  • Due to being undead, her skin has a blue tint to it. The inside of her mouth is a dark blue. Eyes are a mix of magenta and teal.
  • Her hair is a two-toned black-magenta and is styled in a straight, choppy fashion.
  • Vivi wears semi-gothic fashion. Puffy sleeves; a short, black dress; a bow; and tall, black-heeled boots.

Past

Vivi was originally hired by an adventuring party to track down a monster in the lower levels of the dungeon. Her skills as a ranger made her a valuable asset for hunting down specific monsters.

Making the mistake of breaking off from her group in pursuit of the monster, she found herself locked in battle with it... but she was unmatched for the creature.

Vivi doesn't remember how the fight ended... but what she does remember is waking up after being revived. A large scar remained down her chest- as she would come to learn that her very heart had been ripped out at some point during the fight. Still, despite being reivived there was something off about her. Her skin was cold- with a blueish hue- and her hair had darkened to a pitch black. Without realizing, she had lost the need to breathe altogether. She was alive, but not fully.

The biggest shock came when she tried to leave the dungeon with her former party. Something about her new state had bound her to the dungeon itself. Without wanting to wait around to learn why, the party leaves her behind.

Joining Laios' Party

Vivi had been stuck in the dungeon for over a year before she had come across Laios's party.
Trying to make due with her current situation, Vivi tried to adjust to life in the dungeon. She collected odds and ends and kept them safely tucked away in a chest where no one would notice. And- for the most part- no one did.

On her way back to her base after a pleasant stroll, she noticed a handful of adventurers crowded around her ornate box attempting to open it.

Devising a plan to retrieve her box before they have a chance to pilfer it, she decides to trail the group and to wait until an opportune time to frighten them into giving back her box.

Her plan fails miserably as her attempt to scare the party was met with dead silence (multiple times).

After enough failure, Vivi makes a bold move to outright confront the party with the claim that she'll give up in trying to take back her stolen treasure as long as they agree to share a portion of their (delightfully smelling) meal.

None of them realized that the box was the reason behind her being so worked up, but Senshi had noted that they had made a larger-than-usual meal and that it would be alright if they shared some with her.

While indulging in the freshly cooked meal- one of the first Vivi has had in a long while- they ask about who she is and what she was doing in the dungeon alone. Vivi tells them about how she had originally come with an adventuring party- of how she died and was revived- and with the complication of not being able to leave. Marcille makes an assumption that maybe something went wrong in her intial revival- that maybe something was out of place or missing. Vivi agrees on the likelihood of that being the case. Vivi also mentions the Y scar left behind and that her heart had been ripped out.
With a little magic, Marcille discerns that there shouldn't be anything abnormal about Vivi's heart; however, it seemed that at a closer look her heart belonged to a monster of somekind although she couldn't tell.

The group discloses that the reason that they had entered the dungeon was to save Laios's sister Falin, and that she was a talented cleric, who may know how to help.

Hearing that, Vivi offers to help their group find Falin in hopes of finding a cure for her situation and to be able to leave the dungeon.

Relationships

Laios
love interest
Vivi finds his reckless nature puzzling, and even frustrating at times, but she's constantly shown that he often takes risks for her sake. Perhaps its in part of him knowning her fear about being unable to be revived again.

But, no matter how reckless he gets, Vivi always finds herself patching him back up.

Marcille
friend
It's been awhile since Vivi's had the chance to be catty or gossip with another person. Luckily, she's found the perfect friend in Marcille.

Senshi
friend
It has also been quite some time since she's had a decent meal down in the dungeon. Although skeptical about being able to eat monsters at first, she quickly becomes a monster-based-meal devotee thanks to Senshi's cooking ability.

Chilchuck
friend
Vivi and Chilchuck are far from being the party's heavy-hitters, so they often find themselves looking out for each other with their wit and strategy.

Falin
friend
Having first met Falin only briefly after her revival, Vivi was immediately drawn to Falin's kind personality. So much so, that she had declined Falin's offer to help cure Vivi's situation so that she could instead properly rest up after the ordeal... however that decline is exactly what will keep Vivi stuck in the dungeon for just a little while longer.

Trivia

  • Vivi has attempted to run several different start-up businesses down in the dungeon in an attempt to make a living. None of them ever caught on.
  • Her family back home were known for their traditional methods of preserving jams and other gardened goods, so Vivi's knowledge comes in handy with parts of monsters that the party kills.
  • Overly cautious of how she looks (percieving herself to look like a vampire), she often wears cloaks and hoods when entering public places in the dungeon.
  • Although Vivi is undead and no longer has the need to breathe, she still has a few basic senses like taste and touch that seem to work just fine.
  • She's learnt to communicate with bats. Though not fluent, she's spent enough time with some to understand some basics.
  • Vivi's treasure box doesn't have many things in it that are too valuable. It's mostly jewelry, her limited gold, and a journal of scrapped business ideas.
