Tou

Appearance:
Eye Colour: Purple.
Skin Tone: Tan.
Height: 158cm.

Tou is on the short side, but is slim and fit. She has a cheeky aura about her and has a tendency to smirk. Tou typically wears sports clothes, or clothes she finds comfortable.

Tou's hair is short. Her front two tentacles hang lose, while the back two are tied into a ponytail. She has two smaller tentacles at the bottom of her head. 

Personality:
Active and energetic, Tou is a sports enthusiast. She’s very fit and likes to keep active, playing on the same basketball team with her cousin Mikan. Tou is also incredibly competitive and plays to win. She’s prone to making a competition out of everything and Tou really doesn’t like to lose. Unsurprisingly she has an aggressive playstyle, but is at times too rash which costs her the game.

A wannabe sports journalist, Tou works for the school newspaper. She’s got a keen eye for details, often picking up on things others overlook. She knows all the stories and rumours going around the schoolyard - nothing gets past Tou. She’s the only inkling who can compete with Coral in gossiping. Always being on the search for that hot new scoop makes Tou incredibly nosy, sticking her nose in places where it’s not welcomed. It’s far worse when she thinks there’s a scoop involved; if Tou catches wind that you know anything, she’ll hound you until she gets what she wants. Tou is not one to give up easily, and it really takes a lot for her to give up on a scoop she wants. She’s not adverse to using underhand tactics to getting her info, so if Tou can’t get the info she wants by directly asking, she’ll find a way to get it out of you.

Tou is a tomboy and is the rough-and-tumble sort; she has a better time getting along with guys than she does other girls. She’s confident and assured, which leads to her being assertive and brash. Tou is direct and says what she thinks, and speaks in a rather crass manner. She can trash talk with the best of them and will attempt to insult and tilt opponents in her favour. She’s the sort who will rub her wins in other people’s faces; this coupled with her blunt manners gets Tou on the wrong side of a lot of people.

Tou despises girly things with a passion, thinking its “gross”. It is next to impossible to get her to wear a dress or wear makeup, and she’ll often respond to “typical” girl talk with loud groans and disgusted grunts. She often gets into trouble at school because she refuses to wear the skirt that’s a part of her uniform, instead turning up in her gym shorts.

Backstory:
The middle of three children, Tou was very close with her brothers growing up. The three of them would often play together, and her older brother’s interest in sports was what got Tou interested. The three of them would often play on the same team, and while they don’t play as much as they used to when they were younger, they are still close and will often discuss the latest rankings and watch matches together. Tou knew from a young age that she wanted to pursue a sports related career, but didn’t feel cut out for a professional athlete. She became interested in journalism after a school assignment where they had to write a newspaper style article, and it quickly became something she was passionate about. Now, she writes for Humboldt High’s school newspaper, working alongside her friend and partner Hunter.
 

Strengths:

With the dualies Tou is able to perform dodge rolls, allowing her to quickly reposition and turn a situation to her advantage. Her dodge rolls allow Tou to quickly evade danger and also confuse opponents, making it easier for her to splat them. Her burst bombs allow her to trap an opponent and hinder movement, making it even easier for Tou to splat them.

Weaknesses: 

While incredibly useful, dodge rolls consume ink, meaning Tou cannot constantly dodge roll out of danger. If she doesn’t keep an eye on her tank, Tou can leave herself stranded with no ink to defend herself with or not enough to escape being splatted. The dualies are also messy shooters, making them good for covering turf but not great at claiming splats without rolling.
 

Fun Facts:

 Tou likes to skateboard and has been doing so since she was seven. She can perform a few small tricks.
 She’s always really wanted a dog but her family have never had the space for one. Whenever she goes over to her cousin’s house, the first thing she will do is seek out their dog, Shushi. 
 Is most likely to get sent out of class for swearing.
