The Capybara

The MY Capybara is a large yacht homeported in Chicago on Lake Michigan. Her ownership is split between comedian Hillary Russ, tennis player Lottie Vic, and an anonymous third owner. It is 118 feet in length and has a total of four decks. Hillary is the majority (65%) owner and permanent inhabitant of the Capybara. Lottie and the other owner each have 17.5% stakes in the vessel. 

The flybridge is the top deck, containing a social area and the secondary helm. Below this is the main deck. This contains the main helm at the front, with a corridor bypassing the owner’s cabin and going to the dining room. Hillary’s cabin is between the main bridge and dining room, inside which are her bed, dresser, desk, and 66 inch TV with stereo equipment. On her desk is her gaming PC and by the bed is the enclosure for her pet hedgehog Muffin. Aft of this is the dining room, with the galley further aft. The forecastle serves as the housing for the hot tub near the bow.

The third deck down is the guest deck. It has six more cabins (Lottie’s cabin is on the port-bow) and a shared entertainment area. The lowest deck is the orlop deck. This is mostly a crew and technical area, where any crew members get their own galley and a communal bunk room. The engine room is at the stern on this deck. The hold is below this, at the very bottom of the yacht. This is not a deck and contains nothing more than fuel, wastewater, and sewage tanks.
