Nocturne is a follower of the moon, more specifically a fae fox born of the moon's image. Those of his species are often born with physical signifiers or resemblances to the elements and powers that allow them to channel their magic. Very few, if any, faes have been born to follow the Moon Prince of Khadia. Similarly, Nocturne's childhood friend, Soleil, was born as a rare follower of the renowned Sun Prince, Alsuni.

Since reaching adulthood, Nocturne and Soleil have banded together, a shared, natural acknowledgement of the other's importance in nature and Khadian life. When others shun the moon and scoff at Nocturne's path, Soleil bears a deep appreciation for the moon's presence, lighting the night, fighting back nightmares, and giving dreams.

Nocturne has a bit of a mischievous streak. Well, it's more like mischief is one of his main motivators in life. He struggles with trusting others and confronting things like emotions or past conflict and would rather play a prank and relax. He's protective of Soleil who he views as somewhat lacking in common sense. He feels strongly about helping those who deserve it. The abused, the broken, the poor. He finds these people and helps them, leading the to the rather hard to find temple of the Moon Prince where the Moon Prince's few followers will shelter them in the secret of night.

He likes using magic and dabbles in all forms of magic that falls under the moon. Sleep, dreams, illusion, and a bit of water and ice. Those who have trouble sleeping in the temple will seek out Nocturne, often finding him in the Moon Garden in the Temple's enclosed courtyard. He is often more than happy to put those under his care to bed, delivering them to Somnium, the Moon Prince's brother and Purveyor of Dreams.
