About
Emry is a seventeen year old living in the northern Kaster lands. He's a bit of an outcast in his town, never really fitting in. He's clumsy and a troublemaker, yet despite that has some of the most powerful magic in his town, especially for his age. He's rather snobbish and cold-hearted at times, but down-to-earth, and very stubborn. He generally ignores others, but those that bother him he teases in an effort to get them to leave him alone (especially other teens, who bully him). He, much prefers animals to people because he views humans as flawed. Because of that, he's a vegetarian, but still eats fish because he hates how they stare unblinking at him. He's standoffish and difficult to work with. More often than not he's quiet and grumbles. Not the brightest bulb.
Appearance
Emry is a scrawny boy, often seen with a frown. He has an odd appearance, with flared out ears, a stubby nose, and narrowed eyes. He has long hair that he ties most back into a ponytail, but much of it falls down on the right half of his face, blocking out his right eye. He is often dirty, usually from accidents or mischief.

Backstory
Emry lives with just his father, an aging man in his late 60s. His father is actually his grandfather, his parents having disappeared or died when he was a toddler. His grandfather was all he knows, so he considers him his father and refers to him as such. They both do their best to take care of each other, though Emry can be stubborn, and his father too quiet and finds difficulty working, due to his limp. His grandfather is well respected in the town, and a former master. His wisdom is well sought after.
Emry, like nearly all in the Kaster lands, was trained in martial arts. But quit at sixteen due to feeling like an outcast, and to help care for his father, who started getting sick. Currently, he spends his time in the mountains most the time, gathering food for his father or for trade. The rest of the time he spends at home, making sure his father is alright. On occassion, he meets up with a troll named Khazri, a nomad among her kind. She is the closest thing to a friend he knows, though she treats him like a kid (which he is), since she's so much older than he is.
Father
Emry and his father are very close. His father tries to guide him, but Emry is rather stubborn. But both would do anything for each other.
Khazri
Khazri and Emry met relatively recently, after he found her "singing" in a sacred valley. Since then, they've met up on multiple occasions. Khazri has been reteaching him martial arts on her own, since Emry had quit because of being an outcast, and Khazri thought that just wouldn't do. She makes sure Emry gets enough food and is alright. Though Emry, though not very observant, feels something is amiss with Khazri, like she's not telling him everything.
