Beast Union
The BU is a global union with binding authority, tasked with establishing laws of various species of anthropomorphic beings. Each anthropomorphic form is represented by a member of their respective family (such as canidae, felidae, equidae, etc.), chosen either by the country's government or by democratic processes. These representatives, along with their selected group of associates from the same family, are responsible for safeguarding the rights and cultural heritage of their anthropomorphic forms.
The Council of Representatives is the highest governing body of the Beast Union which consists of representatives from each animal family. Each representative leads a group composed of members from various species within their animal family. They discuss within the council to reach decisions and develop policies. There's also an executive committee, legislative assembly, judicial tribunal, advisory councils and regional representatives.
Some do not agree with certain laws established within the BU which causes tension between countries.

Identification Cards
– The BU requires ID of a person's human and anthropomorphic form. There is no picture in case of inability of transformation or religious reason, but the species is included in this document and confirmed through birth certificate, biological family records or genetic testing.
– IDs have different seals and markings depending on the persons anthropomorphic forms species family.

Anthropomorphism
– All of population has an anthropomorphic form. Those that don't is due to a disease that blocks the transformation (Ineptias Bestiaformae). The cause of the disease is unknown. Before birth, a baby in a womb stays in their human form throughout the whole pregnancy. Humans gain the ability to transform around puberty. Although it's recommended to avoid transforming during pregancy, the mother changing her form does generally not affect the baby or it's form. The mother can only give birth in her human form, and if it's not possible, she will need a c-section. People can only reproduce in human forms as anthropomorphic forms do not have genitals. When two people of different anthropomorphic form species try to reproduce, the fetus dies early and the pregnancy ends in miscarriage.
– Some people have stronger animal traits than others, but there are no quadrupeds, only bipeds. For example, some may have more animal like feet than others of the same species.
– There are no fish people, only regular fish. There is in general not a lot of beast forms of lower trophic level animals.
– Bird people can't fly. Although they have wings that are made of pneumatic bones, human bodies are not adapted to flying even after transforming, as organs and interior tissue of preexisting bones do not change.
– The population is omnivorous, but most lean into eating plant based food. The vital organs do not change or adapt to their anthropomorphic forms, their diet is just like of a regular human, so theres no difference in diet of herbivore and carnivore anthropomorphs.

Marriage, families, relationships
– Stigma around same sex relationships never existed.
– Some cultures look down upon pairs that aren't of two same species. Similarly, adopting a child that is of a different species of anthropomorphic form is seen by some as wrong.

Religion
– Disconnected from taking part in political matters and from the government in most countries.
– There are many. There are two main ones. One believes changing anthropomorphic forms is a sin on the basis that God never intended for people to attain such ability, and those that have Ineptias Bestiaformae are believed to be messengers of God and the purest and cleanest of human form. They do not recognize it as a disease. They don't eat meat and fish. They believe that if they prove to God they rejected their beast form, that they will receive salvation in the afterlife.
The second believes that people are meant to be in their beast forms, as their God's have gifted them of such ability, rejecting it would be disrespecting what they've been blessed with. They follow the natural food chain and do not reject eating meat, but a person may still refrain for personal reasons. They look down upon relationships that aren't of two people of the same species. Adopting a child of a different species is also seen as wrong by them. This religion branches into groups, one illegal cannibalistic and another whose members only source their meat from ethical places.

Education
– There are mixed and same species schools but the latter one is not as common and are mostly private schools.

Trivia
– first character to exist was Rika, she was created in 2018, so ig that's where it all started. she went through a few redesigns, renames and other changes
– my main inspiration was Beastars, Wolf's Rain, Brand New Animal and On a Leash
– the idea started off with everybody as ponies, but my later inspiration influenced me to change everybody to anthropomorphic animals
– I tried writing a story for this back in 2019, but as I've never liked reading books, I never really developed the skills to write a coherent and lengthy story. I have trouble with writing dialogue and incorporating seperate personalities into my characters, so it was all very inconsistent and bland
