He's a secret only a few know and can dare utter. Even then, only a small number from that pool are able to afford his services as they're costly and irreversible. Marbas is a demon who comes in a white lion form. Even albino lions are rare to the mortal realm, but none possess such blood red eyes. He can reveal secrets and truths as he's all knowing, but in truth he's omnipresent. He'll able to discover things you're curious about and at the same time, send alternate versions of himself as summons to go unravel the answer. It may not be a supernatural power but he has a gift of persuasion. He can manipulate diseases which is a specialty of his that other demons cannot hope to master. Though he can create cruel plagues, he can heal any place and being from it. He's not particularly one to call it healing though, just that he can kill it. On the rare occasion, Marbas can manifest into a human form so he can better blend in with the mortals. Sometimes it's best suited to his work to be along side his contractor. For a limited time he's even able to shapeshift others, in whole or in parts.

Humans utter his name when they're in need of aid that goes beyond human potential. He works better in fetching information than gossip columns. Later, he can spread them faster than the social circles. He works assassination better than the skilled mercenary, without a sound or a single hesitation. He's helped contractors take down rival kingdom and empires, massacring the masses on a large scale. It's understandable he has no ounce of guilt but he does have some pity. After all, it's his contractor's wishes and they pay hefty fees as he doesn't do it for free. Riches don't benefit him but their souls, connections, memories and dreams satiate him.

They say when Marbas is summoned the sun sets as a giant red sun, bloodying the night sky until his contractor's deal is fulfilled

He wasn't always like this. Marbas was once a human named Hongri who luckily had a Celestial God who took a liking to him. Word has it that the both of them hold a special relationship that went beyond that of a godly being and a dutiful follower. Other gods thought it was unorthodox, other mortals thought Hongri was crazy. But it didn't matter to him, he had no desire to prove to anyone. He aided the God as much as possible.

He never got to grow old when his soul would be corrupted by a demon out for revenge against the God, turning him into a demon. He fell from the close watch of his godly companion and it would take thousands of years for them to ever meet again. But was Hongri the same kind of person that the God loved?
