Kayda's Links
Kayda was created to kill Himi Xiko, as she is a powerful being who has caused fear and terror for years without a care for others. Even so, Kayda cannot kill her. Kayda doesn’t want to kill anyone. Instead, she’ll just find a way to catch her so she can be imprisoned! Even though she keeps failing and her creator is always very mad at her for disobeying, she will find a way to solve this without causing any deaths.
This weird robot is a real nuisance to Xiko! She’s pretty dumb so it’s not like Xiko is worried she’ll be able to stop her, even with those big laser cannons of hers, but she keeps showing up and trying to get in Xiko’s way. Ahhh, what a bother! Xiko keeps trying to kill her, but it’s so hard to put a robot down permanently since she can just be rebuilt!
Mitsuuo gave Kayda sentience and a purpose in life, and for that Kayda is eternally grateful. She is a brilliant and strong woman who the little android respects more than anyone else. Even though Kayda messes up a lot and makes Mitsuuo angry, she knows it’s because the job she’s entrusted to her is very important, and it’s probably because Mitsuuo loves her that she gets so upset with her failures.
Kayda is a former service android that Mitsuuo reprogrammed to function as a military-grade weapon. Unfortunately the additions made to its ability to judge and make decisions seems to have given it the ability to disregard her orders, as well. This is unacceptable, but no matter what she does to try correct it, it stubbornly maintains this false free will. Mitsuuo has since given up trying to fix this version, and is now working on a replacement.
Kayda likes Mitsuko and thinks she's a very nice young lady, but it seems like she doesn't like to talk much. That's okay, since her mother doesn't like to talk with Kayda either, maybe it's a family trait.
Mitsuko doesn't really like Kayda. Her mother spends all her time working on the android, directing her, or talking about her. She barely has any time left for Mitsuko when she's finished. It makes her jealous.
Tadashi is a friend! Even if it has to be a secret.
Tadashi can't afford to be too openly friendly with the android given that he's undercover, but Kayda is his ally and she seems... oddly kind, for a machine. In fact, it seems like it's been given orders that are different than what Tadashi was told.
Salix was the prototype for Kayda's creation, so, that kind of, in a way, makes him like... an older brother, right? Kayda really wants to get to know him but, also... he's a bad guy, isn't he...?
Kayda's allegiance is unfortunate, but not surprising to him. She's a waste of potential and he'll do to her what he did to every other prototype and model before him.

Since Kayda's change of heart and her efforts to help him recover after escaping HER together, Sal has...well, he doesn't have a heart to change, but they stood a better chance at survival together and he doesn't completely hate her, so he's... not going to let either of them wind up back in their creator's hands. Because that will piss her off, of course, not...not because he's gone soft.
