My boy D'Artagnan fears himself over most things. As a bounty hunter, he's seen more crazy things and encountered more terrifying individuals than he can even remember. However, he is nearly uncontrollable when his werewolf curse takes over. Usually he hides somewhere far away from his wife and son, often deep in the woods that surround the town he lives in, but one night he didn't get out of town fast enough and nearly killed his wife Rosie. She luckily lived, but his curse lifted as he was covered in her blood and crouched over her unconscious body, causing some of his deepest trauma. He has still not forgiven himself, though Rosie has 10 times over, and he has been afraid of himself ever since.

D'Art just wants to live a peaceful life with Rosie, but he's not quite able to due to the circumstances surrounding their love and child. As a "half-breed" and a human, their romance is quite frowned upon by most of the people in their lives, especially since they have a son who was born with a partial curse. The townsfolk that live nearby are familiar with D'Artagnan's past and current status, and most are uneasy around him, though they would almost never say that to his face (he's a rather intimidating figure).

D'Artagnan would do nearly anything to have the life that he craves so much, and is working to find a way to have his curse lifted. He is pursuing the moon goddess Aitne, who is responsible for his condition, in the hopes that he can trap her and strike a bargain, but he's not sure how things will turn out.

D'Artagnan has lost his father, though he didn't care (he was an abusive man), and his mother eventually as well. His father died as a drunk when D'Art was young, and he didn't find out the actual fate until his teen years. His mother lived a good long life, but old age ultimately took her, though she did get to meet her grandchild Elian beforehand.

Rosie has actually died briefly, but was given back the gift of life by the goddess of the moon Aitne. D'Art is the one responsible, though it was purely an accident (he was in his werewolf form and lost control), and he begged Aitne to return her life to her, which she granted for the price of years taken from D'Art's own life. Rosie's mother is also dead, but her father is alive (he might as well be dead though, as he refuses to acknowledge her).

D'Art loves stew of any kind, but it's gotta have good potatoes and chunks of meat! He particularly loves Rosie's homemade beef stew, but he's not too picky at other places!

D'Artagnan is a bounty hunter! He's hired to track down and bring in criminals by higher-ups, something that has been made easier by his heightened senses (due to being a werewolf). He finds it enjoyable work, as he's mainly hired to hunt down mob bosses, thieves, and other unsavory folks, but it does tend to take him away from his family for long periods of time. When he's home, he loves to spend time with his little boy Elian and his love Rosie, working the bar at the inn that they run together!

D'Artagnan loves little animals, and talks in the most babytalk voice you'll ever hear coming from a 6'4" adult man, but only when he's in private, he changes right back to his normal gruff voice as soon as anyone else is in earshot

D'Art - scarred knuckles (he punches things a lot, occupational hazard), slightly pointed nails (especially during the full moon) that cause small scars on his palms (from making fists), rather sinuous and strong

D'Artagnan's least favorite thing is the moon. It seems silly, but since it turns him into the werewolf version of him, which he had positively loathed ever since he seriously injured his love Rosie, he has begun to hate the monthly transformations

I think D'Art would want to not be a werewolf, but seeing as he was bitten at the age of 14, he's lived most of his life as one and he doesn't really know much else at this point. However, I don't think he'd change it, because if he hadn't been turned, he wouldn't have eventually become a bounty hunter, wouldn't have ended up in a little Oklahoma inn, and wouldn't have found the love of his life, so in the end it all worked out for the better ^-^

D'Art needs quieter music, he's got sensitive hearing due to his werewolfishness

Most of my characters don't have modern technology, but Rosie loves to sing songs while she works, and it's one of D'Artagnan's favorite things in the whole world

D'Art runs cold during his post-werewolf period, so Rosie is always trying to keep him warm by feeding him soups, building lovely fires, and being the big spoon ^-^

D'Artagnan eats basically anything that's put in front of him, but he especially adores Rosie's cooking! (It's what helped him fall for her in the first place!) While at home, he eats with Rosie and Elian, but sometimes has Yvette, Ivander, and Lisabet over for meals when they're in town. His favorite meal that she makes is roast chicken and potatoes! While on missions, D'Art hunts and cooks for himself, but it's usually underdone (he's preferred rare meat since becoming a werewolf). He typically goes for rabbit or venison, as it's easy to process.  During the full moon period, when D'Art becomes the werewolf version of himself, he isolates himself in the woods so as not to hurt anyone again. During this time, he catches his own food, including both wildlife and livestock, and eats it fully raw. This doesn't make him sick, as his digestive system is changed to match that of a predator.

Go-to morning drink is an Irish coffee. Coffee with Irish whiskey, brown sugar, and cream.

They've been in a semi-secret relationship for nearly 6 years now, but now the cat's kinda out of the bag since they've got a lil boy! Interspecies relationships are rather frowned upon, but honestly the community that they live in is used to seeing D'Art working behind the counter of The Sleeping Dove and stealing kisses when Rosie comes back to get food for guests, and as long as he's keeping the more dangerous beasts away from their town I don't think they mind that much   They have both sets of couple dynamics: both are tough cookies and fiercely protective of the other but also absolutely enamored by each other to the point of just melting with a single touch D'Art is always the little spoon though, no exceptions, and Rosie is happy to comply!  D'Artagnan often has PTSD-related night terrors, usually to the point of waking up in full panic attack mode, but Rosie is always there to comfort him back to sleep. It's a lot harder on him when he's out on missions, as he's away from the inn for days to months, but they have pictures of each other in matching lockets, including locks of each other's hair.

D'Art is a bounty hunter and also a werewolf! He's rather quiet and dangerous, especially if you're the criminal he's tracking at the moment, but he has an enormous soft spot for Rosie and their son Eli He's such a good dad, and an even better partner!

They can't be officially married, as interspecies matches are rather frowned upon by their society, but their love is as strong as ever

Ah! Rosie moved to Oakhelm (modeled after Oklahoma) when she was about 25 and opened an inn! D'Art, as a bounty hunter, travels often, and was staying in town one night at the Sleeping Dove (Rosie's inn). He kept to himself, but couldn't help but stare at the bartender/waitress as she served other patrons! She introduced herself after a few days of observing him watching her, and he distanced himself almost immediately (he didn't want to have any attachments), but he was passing back through months later and decided to stop by on a whim. They made eye contact and she ran to give him a hug and he turned it into a kiss and the rest is history

And no, she doesn't have to chain him up! He tries to stay away from home during the full moon, but if it can't be helped, there is this myth that I stumbled across that someone who truly loves and trusts the werewolf can help revert them back by calling their name and I just love it

He was around 14-15 years old when he was bitten, he was out late coming home from his job as a lineman and was mugged. He didn't see his attacker, as it was dark, but he was left with the scars that grace his face as a reminder. He didn't realize that he had been bitten by a werewolf though until the next full moon when he transformed for the first time

Meet D'Artagnan Edevane!

Nicknames: D'Art

Age: 38

Gender: Male

Pronouns: he/him

Of Irish-French descent, D'Artagnan grew up in a dysfunctional home. Raised in the forests of England, his mother disappeared after D'Art was bitten at the age of 13, leaving his father to raise D'Artagnan and his younger sister. D'Artagnan left England at the age of 17 and moved to America to pursue a new life with no bias. He found that his newly bestowed "curse" gave him an uncanny advantage at tracking criminals, so a bounty hunter he became. People still stare, it's hard to ignore a 6' 4", scarred frame, but he's built up walls to mask his insecurities. D'Artagnan eventually settled in Oklahoma, living in a frontier town, where he met the woman who would eventually become the love of his life: Rosina DuCarmont. He still works as a bounty hunter, oftentimes away from home for weeks at a time, but he promised to Rosie that he would always come back for her so that they could be properly married, and he has never broken that promise.
