Design Notes:

• Based on Casey's June Beetle
• Fur is LONG and super soft
• Lamellate (scarab beetle) antennae
• Beetle wings
  • Elytra (outer wing shell) are stripey outside and solid light grey inside
  • Translucent amber inner wings (#7C4B10 at 50% opacity)
• Chubby tummy/cheeks with weirdly thin/lanky leggies
• Intense inner ear tufts and bushy eyebrows
• Always wears solstice tail charm (flat metal sun charm hangs lower than moonstone orb)

Character Notes:

• They were born on the summer solstice (and during pride month) and don't you forget it! They are completely in their element the entire month of June.
• They have a truly outrageous collection of sun knick-knacks, mostly purchased from artists at folk festivals or gifted to them by their family. Their kids, grandkids, and sister all know that sun knick-knacks are what they want for their birthday every year.
• They're no good at cooking, but they make fantastic homemade lemonade, iced tea, and kombucha! They almost always bring a pitcher of something cold and tasty to folk festivals and family gatherings.
• They have two modes: party mode and nap mode. There's very little in-between.
• They didn't come out as nonbinary until recently, but they've known they're pan since they were a teenager (though they initially came out as bi and switched labels to pan later in life).
• They hate focusing on or talking about negative emotions like sadness and anger. They'd rather just pretend those emotions don't exist. But occasionally the emotions manage to escape in the form of hours-long sobbing sessions, which they will vehemently deny ever happened.
• They get crushes really easily, but they have a hard time actually acting on them because they've never really taken the time to properly grieve the loss of their wife.
• They play harmonica, tambourine, and other miscellaneous instruments in a folk band called the Frost Daffodils.
