Salted Caramel

Salt grew up in a little house near Ponyville. He was born as a pegasus, and was known as a fairly weak flier by the other pegasi.

About a month after he got his cutie mark, he came out to his family and classmates, stating that he’d prefer to be known as a boy. While his friends and family were accepting, the bullies in school and several older ponies in town shunned him, excluding him due to his gender.

When he was a little older, Salt found himself travelling the world in search of new places, where he'd be free of his old self. 

After a couple years of travel, he came upon an area of the world torn by war. Salt, confused by the violence, heard the arguments from both sides, and realized that both arguments had bits of each other inside themselves. 

Salt singlehandedly brought the war to an end by helping the two fighting sides understand each other during a temporary truce during Hearthswarming, where he made a huge feast, and he ascended to be the Alicorn of Balance (and Cooking).

Currently, he is still learning magic as a new alicorn, for he still doesn’t know how to use his horn.
