laverna is an independent person that never seems to specify her job in common words. in short, she describes herself as the 'solitary enforcer of her own moral code.' it's obvious she does not trust the laws of fontaine for reasons unknown, and has taken it upon herself to make sure that the evildoers left unattended are taken care of.
her methods are nothing short of unconventional, often resorting to threats or taking part in violent confrontation. she is not afraid of those who are evidently stronger than her, using her stealth and agility as a workaround. despite being more than confident in her fighting capabilites, she can recognize those that are more powerful, and instead uses her wit and bribery to manipulate them into giving her information or withdrawing from conflict.
those that have perhaps performed petty crimes in their past or are watched by laverna for future misconduct describe her as a sinister presence that they cannot help but be frightened of. on the other hand, those that are close to laverna or are being unknowingly 'influenced' by her describe her as helpful and gracious, maybe with an eye for mischief and trickery. regardless of her business, laverna is kind to those that she feels have earned it, and is more than willing to help those in need.
