Ashire and Shira may be different species, but they are still twins thanks to magic. It's unclear of how this worked, but the two have a strange bond that is hard to explain.

Ashire lives on the side of flaggons that are often found feeding on unipuffs for their magical energy, storing the energy within his cheeks. However, he doesn't drain all the magic from his food source. Growing up with Shira, he learned how to 'nibble' rather than 'feast', absorbing magic and storing it away, but only leaving his 'meal' drained and weakened (But able to recover) rather than lifeless.

Ashire tends to stick close to their sister, mainly because he knows how divided his kind are when it comes to Unipuffs. Some may be friendly and want to keep them safe, but there are just as many that wanna completely devour and absorb the magic from her kind. Obviously, Ashire can't allow that to befall their sister.
