This girl is… well, she doesn’t really know. She woke up one day with no memory of who she was or how she came to be on a windswept plain. She knows how to do plenty–gather food, farm, raise animals–but she has no knowledge of where she learned these skills. With no prior knowledge, no real goal, and no other people in sight, she’s been… wandering, mostly. Eventually she found an abandoned house that she settled in, but more for a lack of anything else to do than a real purpose. She carries with her a deep sense of loss; her friends assume it’s the result of her loss of identity, but she isn’t so sure. She speaks slowly and deliberately, often taking a lot of time to form her sentences. If asked for an opinion, she takes longer to speak, searching for prior knowledge that very often is not there. She no longer has a name. One of the people she eventually meets (We’ll meet her tomorrow) tried to give her one but found that she physically could not speak it. There’s a curse on her that prevents her from receiving an actual name; others usually refer to her as “human” or “you” or some other general term. This is what bothers her most about her lost identity; she yearns desperately for a name. Since waking up with no memories, it’s the only want she’s managed to identify. The other races had gifts stolen from them, but humans were unique in that they had no gifts given to them by the earth. Their hardiness and ingenuity were well-known, and when the earth gave out gifts, the ancient humans were said to refuse. They were doing just fine on their own; better the earth save her power for someone in need. Because of this, the dragon had no gifts to steal from the humans, at least at first. As the other races tried to fight the dragon and lost, it left the humans alone. Eventually, though, they began to defy the dragon, and the dragon wiped them out. It was not long before there were only a few humans left, including one brash, headstrong girl with a strong sense of justice and the determination to slay the beast that wiped out her people. Unfortunately for her, she failed, and the dragon stole the only thing the girl had: her very self. This unnamed girl here is the shell that was left behind.
