Laughing wolf, sobbing doe, half-blind owl and stoic mare. The four heads of the Creature must feed, and yet all four rip into their victims with varying degrees of excitement. The wolf snaps her jaws eagerly into the flesh of whatever pony or creature was just a bit too slow or too unobservant to escape them, howling with glee all the while. The doe, the bleeding heart among them, cries for the lost souls that she and her sisters have snuffed from the world, pleading with her sisters to show mercy even as she takes another mouthful and swallows. The owl, wiser than her sisters but unable to escape the depravity needed to survive, turns her head to their meal, not allowing herself to see what they've done and pretending that the sinew in her mouth is somehow innocently gathered. The mare, the silent leader among them, simply eats to sustain herself and her sisters, knowing that cruelty is their lot in life, and that the sooner her more empathetic sisters accept that, the better off they'll be. It is she who restrains the wolf and spurs on the doe, it is she who refuses to let the owl remain ignorant, and it is she who decides to skulk along quiet roads, snapping up weary travelers who have stayed out after dark.
