Steve Marshall

"Every man must do two things alone; he must do his own believing and he must do his own dying."

Steve is an infamous individual in the small town of Hope, Kansas. Call him simply effective, brash, rude, or downright frightening -- but nobody can say he doesn't get his work done. As "Bloodmoon", Steve tracks down prolific or violent criminals and catches them by any means necessary; dead or alive. It's a hard job to do, but Steve does it nonetheless. It could be said he's let his work consume him, with his heavy suspicion and lack of trust in others.

But one day, a new detective rode into town. There had recently been a string of murders around Hope, and Bloodmoon wasn't the only one to want to find the perpetrator. Sent from the city, one "Golden Ribbon", soon to be known to Steve as Meriwether, was assigned to the same case as him. Steve's annoyance with Meriwether soon turned into begrudging acceptance -- and soon something more than that.
