Profile

Falen was born to a loving family on October 19th, 1997.
The next day, he was snatched away by a con artist couple, the Porters, who developed brilliant money-making schemes;the latest of which involved a ransom.

The pair decided to kidnap the child of a wealthy family and ransom the child for an extreme amount of cash. Which would've worked great, if they grabbed the right kid from the hospital. With no way to contact the parents, they ended up with some utterly random child.

Falen grew up being stripped, prodded, punished and taught the ways of thievery. It was degrading and depressing, and messed with his psychological state of being. After profuse purposeful misbehavior, his kidnappers sent him to a cheap private school, hoping it would instill some ounce of discipline into him. It was here he met Dahlia May, a fellow student, and the two bonded over their tragedies.
Soon after they had become inseparable friends, the strange sickness that had been plaguing their world for years swept up a chunk of the population, suddenly killing millions in a matter of weeks.

Luckily, Falen wasn't infected and was allowed passage to the neon metropolis quarantine zone known as Sum City. He lost track of Dahlia's whereabouts soon after the sickness hit. Falen had lived his entire life up to this point being alone and afraid, being shipped to a new city changed nothing for him.

At least, nothing changed for him right away. It took some time before Falen got used to the bustling, blaring, blinding city. To make a proper living, he worked as a repairman for multiple little shops on the east side. After living in Sum City for a number of months, Falen developed a crush on an employee of the hardware store, Ayka Fennec. They went on three dates before she tried to murder him, as an initiation test from a brutal gang she wished to join.

Initially Ayka dated Falen because she liked him back, but her childhood friend Angelo became jealous and said "If you want into our gang so badly, kill your lousy boyfriend. And bring back proof." She wanted to be accepted into Angelo's gang for years, so she accepted the task. Little did she know, Falen wasn't afraid to use cheap tricks, and despite being taken by surprise, Ayka lost the fight.  Angelo had his most trustworthy colleagues lure Falen into a trap and kidnap him. The gang leader promised he would keep Falen alive until his beloved Ayka either awoke from her coma, or died.

Deep in the bowels of the Benter gang's hideout, Falen sat tied to a rusted chair waiting for death. As Ayka's condition worsened, Angelo descended deeper to madness. Angelo slowly severed Falen's arm with a twisted metal spoon he found on the ground. The process took hours. Both Falen and Angelo's sanity were dissipating at an alarming rate.

Meanwhile, a gang leader from another dimension or something wanted to eradicate some rival gangs, and raided the Benter gang hideout. Every person in the Benter base was killed, except for a teenager found in a puddle of blood and some harmless comatose girl. Although Falen lost an entire arm to the Benter gang, he decided it was worth it in order to have met the gang leader Kingsley Leclair.

As a gift from Sum City's supreme innovator, Falen received a high functioning prosthetic robotic arm as an apology from the city. which pretty much meant, "We're sorry our police couldn't save you, here, take this awesome gift to distract you from our city's inadequacy."

Equipped with a nifty high tech prosthetic, Falen devoted himself to repaying The Hierarchy gang. More specifically, it's leader Kingsley Leclair. Why stick around one deadly gang directly after almost being killed by another deadly gang, you ask? The answer was simple- Falen had a huge crush on the Kingsley AKA his knight in shining armor. Although the armor wasn't so much shining as it was tarnished with blood and scuffs. His knight in scuffy armor.

Kingsley's greatest amusement was to assign Falen tasks that were rather impossible. Yet somehow Falen came out on top every time. The other gangsters laughed and made jokes, calling him the boss' wife. The jokes were meant to be negative, but being in any sort of romantic relationship with Kingsley seemed like a fantastic idea to Falen. Besides, if they were married then perhaps Kingsley would treat Falen more like an equal and less like a pet.

So of course, Falen soon proposed to Kingsley- and he was politely turned down. The next day, Falen could barely bring himself to attend work. But he decided he was being selfish, and Kingsley's needs came first. That day, Kingsley nonchalantly suggested they try going out first before marriage. Also, Kingsley fired Falen that day and told him he needed to get a real job.

And so he did; at a run down noodle shop shop he'd done repairs for in the past. He got paid a pretty reasonable sum to do repairs and make deliveries on the company bicycle. The main chef was a teenage cooking prodigy with a viscous attitude named Kai. But Kai soon warmed up to the new employee because Falen scared that annoying Aoki brat away from the store. Kai suggested Falen move in with him, mostly so Aoki would stop bothering Kai at home too. Falen had no home and thought this was a pretty swell idea, and to this day tells everyone how generous a person Kai is (which no one believes).

So Kai went to show Falen to the apartment they'd be sharing, when they ran into Dahlia on the street. Falen was so relieved to see his old friend was safe from the mysterious contagion that had killed so many. They invited her upstairs to Kai's apartment for tea and caught up on each other's lives. They hugged it out and Aoki became choked up over such a tragic friendship, and Kai wondered how Aoki got in his house. Aoki decided he misjudged Falen at first and was no longer afraid of him. Kai then announced that Falen had to find somewhere else to live after all. Aoki criticized him for being too cruel and offered to rent Falen the apartment next door, and Falen agreed so long as Dahlia could stay with him. Dahlia insisted she didn't want to impose, but eventually gave in and let Aoki rent the apartment for them both to stay in.

Aoki just had his father buy the entire apartment building and became the landlord, giving him an excuse to always hang around Kai's house. To escape the luxuriously boring rich kid lifestyle, Aoki's younger sister Kandy moved into the apartments as well.  Deep down Kai returned Aoki's feelings, and Falen suggested jealousy as a tactic to capture Aoki's attention. Kai became good friends with Kandy rather quickly, which made Aoki jealous. Thanks for the dating advice, Falen!

When a strange new resident took refuge on the top floor, Falen was the first to establish contact with them. Slowly but surely, he befriended the mysterious new girl Tsukimi Soh before introducing her to his friends. The girl was tall, beautiful, wore extraordinary outfits, and disappeared each dusk until dawn. One night Falen realized he didn't know Tsukimi's favorite color, so he went upstairs immediately to ask her what it was. In his excitement, Falen ran in on her conversing with her magical spirit guide, causing the spirit to turn human (they aren't allowed to be seen by human eyes in spirit form). The spirit turned into a human boy called Maoru and was much more lax as a human. Tsukimi thanked Falen for doing what he did, and that because of him turning human, she had finally bonded with her spirit familiar. Tsukimi explained how she was a spirit bounty hunter in a human body and asked that Falen wouldn't tell anyone, because they might think she's weird. Falen agreed, and the two have been pretty tight pals ever since.

On a rainy night, Kai found a strange boy asleep in the road and brought him inside. The boy slept for days and when he awoke, it was revealed he was amnesiac. No one seemed to have patience for the boy, but Falen always chilled out with him, trying to recapture his lost memories with multiple coversations. Randomly, the boy recalled the name Daichi Oshiro, so everyone assumed it was his name and called him as such. Recently, Falen was offered a job as a security guard at Sharp Tower. He accepted much to his friend group's disapproval. No one in the group quite trusts the Sharp Foundation, but Falen didn't really care what they thought because this job promised a hefty paycheck. During the daytime he runs deliveries and does repairs at Yum Noodies then during the nights he works security at the Tower. He's constantly tired and has trouble functioning some days but hey that's life. At first working security was nothing special, it was actually kind of boring. But only a couple weeks after starting his job, a disaster occured. He was patroling the halls in the ground floor, when he heard a deafening crash from far below. He followed the noises, and realized it was advancing upwards rapidly. It suddenly advanced at an incredible speed, and Falen had a difficult time running to keep up with it, though he still followed. Then he heard it, far ahead of him, but certainly on the same floor as he was. He pushed onward until he came to a gaping hole in the wall, the cold winter air blowing inside. Laying in the snow just outside was a person, visibly struggling to stand themselves up.
