On her surface, the pristine and cherry-red skin of the apple, the little tabby is quite an admirable one. Philosopher’s Fortune possesses an air of clear composure and open-mindedness, rarely leaning strongly to one side and instead making an effort to truly understand all given perspectives. When she chooses to be, she’s an incredible mediator, well-suited by instinct to handle conflicts. Her sweet smile, relaxed demeanor, and down-to-earth nature rarely fails to smooth over rough waters. Everything about the way Philosopher’s Fortune commands herself is pleasant, from her delicate and thought-out expressions to her gentle but wise voice. It’s hard not to be charmed by her, for she knows all the strings to pull to puppet herself just perfectly. Such skill and intelligence comes effortlessly to her. Philosopher’s Fortune thinks quickly and critically, analyzing all with searching eyes hungry for knowledge. Little escapes her sharp mind and close attention.

Upon taking a bite into the apple, one may notice an odd taste, however.. the slightest tinge of sourness, in contrast to the unexpected sweet. Philosopher’s Fortune is often a devil’s advocate, always open to considering differing perspectives and wanting to open others’ minds to them, even if she doesn’t agree with them herself. For some, it may expand their world view, and for others, it may frustrate them to no end. Though she’s never heated, always maintaining the same calm and sociable disposition, Philosopher’s Fortune is argumentative nonetheless simply for the sake of arguing. She may have only the best of intentions, but still, those with a shorter fuse may find it tiring. One should always tread lightly when near the dark-eyed beauty - unassuming as she may be at first glance, one should hope never to do anything that may incur one of her harsh and long-standing grudges. For better or worse, Philosopher’s Fortune does not easily forget those who’ve wronged her. It’d be greatly difficult to tell the depths of her hatred, as she’s deceptive always of her true feelings, but until she’s presented the perfect opportunity to strike, Philosopher’s Fortune will wait ever so patiently - a snake concealed by lush grass, venom dripping from its ready fangs.

Once one reaches the apple’s core, it is all too evident it was rotten all along - the inside is blackened with decay, but it’s too late to get it out of one’s system. As the corrosion of an apple, Philosopher’s anger is utterly undetectable until it all comes out in one bitterly cold, pent-up stab. Maintaining her outer image of untainted charm leads to the repression of any emotions less than desirable - but of course, every being has a finite capacity, no matter how high their tolerance. When it bursts, it is not pretty, but rarely-sighted moments of ugliness are a fair price for a more constant stream of serenity, no? It’s not only wrath that Philosopher’s Fortune often hides, however. She was born with gaping space in her heart reserved for only cruelty to fill and a bout of extremity in all she does. By design, she was made to loathe and the do so with intensity - there is no uncertain gray in Philosopher’s actions, only black and white. Whatever she does, she does as fully as one can.

There is and never will be room for mildness in her life.
