Basa, in simple terms , cares more about himself than he does most anyone else. . . and why shouldn't he ? When most everyone cares more about his luck and little about himself as an individual , he's felt required to be the one who has his back. With every interaction Basa has accumulated further proof to treat others the same they treat him : a false smile , cheerful demeanour yet with a glint of greed in their eyes as they deduce just how they can use him to their advantage. He has accepted this to be his way of life, and is satisfied with the exchange : he offers hope, comfort, and the promise of success. In return, he is paid an adequate sum by the guild by doing as little as letting some of his luck brush off on others. Needless to say, he is very good at balancing his wants while appearing as a bright light for others to rely on.

It is not common for Basa to let other people in, but those close enough know just how far the selfishness tends to run underneath the appearance of self sacrifice. He easily leads people along his pace and whims with his charming smile and wits, pronouncing things on his time and little compliance for otherwise. He acts with little concern for the consequences, knowing that his luck will favor him in the end, and finds most activities droll and boring. His jokes at times become morbid, hinting at an even further depth to his persona that nobody has yet to crack open. Truthfully, he's been hurt too many times and seen little consolement in return, leading him to prefer to keep up the cheerful persona and treat others as lesser so it doesnt hurt as much.
