Profile

"A timid, matter-of-fact coder who got looped up in the Skyscraper Ether hostage for unknown reasons."

She's also been retconned out of existence!

PERSONALITY AND BACKGROUND

PERSONALITY: Ozzie’s personality can actually be best described with her outward appearance: her foggy glasses; her messy mop of jet-black hair; baggy, camouflage hoodie; and the camouflage, bluetooth headphones that always rest on her head. Married to her computer screen and her work, technological extraordinaire Ozzie tends to be a bit distant and constantly occupying her ever a-percolating mind. She’s not super used to people either, as she spent most of her childhood and adolescent years cooped up in her family’s computer office, teaching herself the ropes of coding and hacking. She tends to be awkward and silent when other people are around and interacting with her, though there’s no malicious intent. While her socialization skills aren’t polished, her hacking skills have been honed due to years of dedication.

TRAUMA: Ozzie was never a stranger to the dark web and its shenanigans. In fact, that’s where she honed her hacking skills most of her time. As a little test, Ozzie created her very own trojan virus program that could breach a mass of data through networks. It was a powerful program, but Ozzie wasn’t as responsible with it as she should have been. It especially didn’t help that she was absolutely exhausted from working for countless days with no sleep on the program. As such, when Ozzie accidentally sent the worm out to the whole network at her workplace, she was thrown into a panic mode. She couldn’t compose herself and figure out how to fix the issue quickly enough before it breached the whole network. The havoc the release of the trojan caused almost cost Ozzie her job… At the very least, she was able to clean up the virus and fix everything, though it took a week of no sleep to do it… Nevertheless, Ozzie collapsed into slumber after the issue was resolved, relieved she didn’t lose her job. However, she feared for one thing. If she couldn’t handle the stress of making such a mistake, how low really was her tolerance for grave mistakes such as the accidental trojan release…?

SOUL SECRET: Ozzie built the three REAPER bots, aided by the mechanic, Lars Holt, and the weapons expert, Asher Columbiad. Ozzie specifically coded their behaviour and made them into learning AI. This project was started after the Renegades were informed of the VOODOO Project and the pins originally. Ozzie was tasked with creating the ultimate weapon against the pins. The original goal: creating a way to destroy them. This jumpstarted Project REAPER. However, Holt eventually left the project to work on his own ultimate weapon, “Wrench”. Asher successfully develops the Wraith Wrecker, Saber, Axel, Scythe, and Pistol, weapons that can destroy souls. He then got tasked with figuring out how to weaponize souls and left Ozzie with the rest of the project. Ozzie successfully creates two- PLUTO and STYX, and becomes attached to them. However, problems arose when Ozzie coded PLUTO and STYX to only battle opponents if one was held hostage. She was tasked with creating a more aggressive bot, thus creating IZANAMI. She also re-coded and rebuilt PLUTO and STYX to focus on incapacitating pins with “ghost glaze”, rather than outright destroying them. She then applied the incapacitation tactics to IZANAMI, as well. IZANAMI seemed fine at first, but the robot learnt that souls were in alive people as well. It didn’t help when the bot started desiring to collect bones and souls, as now, everyone who encountered it was in danger. After pitting PLUTO and STYX up against IZANAMI, they all defeated each other. Ozzie deactivated them all. She refused to progress the REAPER project any further and moved to other projects. As such, she locked the three REAPER bots away in the garage to never be touched again… hopefully.

GAMEPLAY

Base Stat Bonuses-
Power Bonus: -2
Defense Bonus: +1
Agility Bonus: +1
Vitality Bonus: 0

BOON: Tap In - Ozzie didn’t just play games on her computer all that time. She’s a technological prodigy, being able to figure out any gadgets and tampering with them for her own advantage. As such, any technology- like elevators or card key locks- that she comes across can be broken into, and even tampered with. For success, she has a +2 due to pre-existing knowledge.

SECRET BOON: Light Step - While Ozzie might not be physically active, she’s petite and thin, as well as silent. Thus, any action that requires stealth, like trying to sneak or hide, has an automatic +2 bonus.

BANE: Lethargy - Keeping oneself sitting in front of a computer so long affects one’s strength and fitness. As such, Ozzie is not one for physical activity, despite being quite brisk and able to endure hits. If she has to wield weapons that aren’t ammo-based, carry a teammate, or other intense physical activity, she has either a -2 power bonus, or a -2 success, depending on which is used.

SECRET BANE: Panic Mode - Ozzie unfortunately can’t handle the stress of peril being thrown onto her without preparation. She starts to panic intensely, confusing herself while trying to figure out how to resolve the issue as quickly as she can. As such, when she’s sneak attacked, or fails/misses an important action like saving a teammate, she will be thrown into terror. Any action she tries to make will be the opposite of what she intends.

SKILL: DATABASE - Ozzie, being the mathematics nerd she is, can calculate people’s wellness with a numerical system. In fact, her glasses is actually a scouter. They can scan opponents and allies in order to figure out damage, status bonuses, and other factors. Twice during a challenge, Ozzie can scan to see another characters’ current HP, status bonuses, and figure out if boons or banes are active. A d20 is rolled, any DCs that are beaten will yield the rewards. DC 10 for health, DC15 for status bonuses, DC 18 for boon and bane activity.
