Umber was a recent addition to the cast. As the show's popularity grew, it drew in the attention of a wider audience beyond our aimed demographic; teenagers and adults. The age ranging through those isn't documented as the director decided the show should expand on basic lessons for the young children, and try to market to everyone involved in the. Hence, Umber's creation. His physic consists of the abnormal, galactic face and monochromatic shades within the darks. The reason for this decision was to make him seem relatable to people, walk in his shoes or to feel what he's feeling; instead of perceiving the character as themselves, the team wanted people to feel strongly pulled into the show for it's enriched education and interesting stories. His lack of color is to also contrast the rest of the cast in the show, he'll make young children question about their future and perhaps allow them to strive to be somewhat like him, of course, with the mixture of their favorite cartoon puppet to go along with their imagination. None of this is real.
Umber is different from the rest of the cast, instead of being upbeat and optimistic, he's more humble and quiet, with a slight hint of strictness. This is very clear when he drastically contrasts his roommate, and close friend, Orion. Umber comes off as a monotone individual, rarely speaks up in a vocal above an indoor speech, this is to make him seem like a very gentle and easy-going person; even if he doesn't seem very positive, he has an reserved and well kept attitude, somewhat like the adult of the group. He may seem avoidant of any sort of social interaction, he was written like this to make him seem relatable to shy individuals, or those who dislike being in the colorful spotlight.
