Shortstar is frequently known to be rather grumpy and strict, though he actually is a big softy. He often finds himself endeared by his clanmates, especially the young ones, who he often takes under his wing to teach them the ways of TideClan and various skills. He makes a great teacher and has a lot of knowledge to give to anyone willing to learn.

He wants what's best for his Clan, and will do whatever he thinks is necessary for their benefit. He's gaurded and suspicious around outsiders and takes a bit of time to warm up to anyone who's not a TideClan member. While he's quick to defend his clanmates from any threats, he's not typically outright hostile towards outsiders, unless they're hostile first or are invading TideClan territory.
