Cheri is just the stage name for a young man who enjoys performing drag for fun and as a source of extra income. Luey found Cheri one day standing up to thugs while walking home after a performance and thought he'd be a good pick for the team.

At first the other girls found it a bit weird, but Luey doesn't really have a firm grasp on human perceptions of sex and gender, so he saw no issue with recruiting Cheri.
