Erisu Kabasawa

Erisu Kabasawa is a solo concertmaster performing with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. During her two-year residency with them, she has been their primary section leader for the first violins, one critic stated that “upon hearing the solo performed by [her], I was moved to tears.” Previously, at the age of 16, she traveled to the United States to perform and win the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis. The young musician told news outlets that the experience was “something I have been working my entire life towards.” While being an extremely skilled violinist, even awarded with an ultimate title, Erisu is also a talented pianist. She placed in the top 10 at the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition when she was 19. She is a Juilliard graduate and before working with the Royal Concertgebouw, she was a second chair violinist with Opéra de Paris.
