Arabella

An overly optimistic witch with some issues regarding her own image and her views on the world. 

Appearance:

A tall and imposing woman. Well, that's how she looks since she wears heels even if she's already tall. If we talk about her face, everything could be characteristic, from her bi-coloured eyes with yellow as a base and pink at the edge, to her round nose full of freckles, to her full lips, always coloured some colour of lipstic she thinks fits her clothing right now. Her face fits afroamerican characteristics. 

If we talk about her body, it's slightly muscular, with what you could call "linear curves". She's a giant woman frankly speaking.

Personality:

At first, she seems kind and loving, and a bit touchy-feely, seeming to want the touch of other persons. All these things are true, she's someone who's ready to help, and tries, really tries, to see the optimistic side of things. She feels a lot, and can be quite empathic is the situation requires it

Whoever, she has the capability for being quite narcissistic, she loves compliments on her appearance, and compliments on the things she does, like "oh, you're such a good person" "you're really useful", she likes that people justify her existence, even if she tries to not pay attention to other person's opinions. 

On the interior, she's very capable of being quite egoistic, specially with the people she cares about, she would do anything to keep them by her side, or stop them from leaving her...well, that's except changing herself. She doesn't do this out of bad intentions, that's how she is, and she knows sometimes this attitude can be deemed as problematic or undesirable...but in the end, she really can't stop listening to her heart. 

Power and abilities

In the current world she's in, she lost most control of her powers, and can only access to a small, but chaotic portion of them if she feels something "strong", wrath, fear, extreme embarassment, it could be anything, if it's strong. This chaotic portion, for the moment, is capable of transmiting feelings in the form of physical sensations. "Pain", "pleasure", "happiness", "sadness". Of course, she's been getting the hang of this and can transmit things like "pain" when she's extremely happy or that kind of thing.

She can also do potions, and has quite an extensive knowledge of magic and enchantments.

If we talk about her full power, her magic is an eternally regenerative source of energy, giving to her by a family-god. This magic is totipotential, and has no affinities to any kind, so it can turn to anything, but takes slightly more work to transform. As it is "pure" energy, it's very nature is very chaotic by itself. The limits are those she imagines. She has to waste it though, or it could stay in her body too long and start being chaotic inside her and that would lead to an awful lot of transformative procedures that are not nice to revert. 

Backstory:

To speak of one of the witches of Carpatia's clan, we must know when it all started, the story of their origins, for it is then when you can understand, the kind of people these magicians are.

Long time ago, a woman called Ilse Carpatia fell in great despair, her husband and son died in a great war, leaving her along only with her daughter. As a widow, she did not have the respect of her people, and ended up being vanished, being regarded as someone useless. Fearful of the tragedies life could bring her, she summoned a nature spirit. She asked them to give her a weapon against tragedy. The spirit gave her the power to do magic, to shift reality and it's laws to her own favor. Ilse was fearful whoever, of the tragedies that could attack her daughter, and so, the spirit said "i'll give these eternal and pure power to all your descendants, so they use it at their own will" whoever, there were conditions to such a great power, the first, was to believe in said spirit, because faith could turn them into a god, and that would guarantee their eternal life, as spirits are passing beings. The second condition said that only member who had faced tragedy would get this power, a personal tragedy, something that has impacted them. Those with powers awakened would be marked, with eyes of two colors, for they had to remember, it was thanks to this spirit that they had power, and they were now their eternal worshippers forever. 

The children of Ilse's daughter were beings of magic, and many generations passed along. The Carpatia clan extended to most countries, and adopted the forms of magic of such countries. Their bloodline extends to this day.

When we speak of the woman named Arabella, we must first speak of the one named Kobe by her mother. Appearances marked young Kobe's life, always called a boy, or assumed to be at least. Kobe knew he never existed really, but rather, "Kobe" was a name of someone that existed in everyone's minds, except hers. Kobe's real identity was only discovered by her grandmother at a young age, and it was this woman, who gave her the name of Arabella. Yet for everyone, she still had to be Kobe.

Arabella lead a succesfull life with this role, Kobe was someone who played like any kid, developed like any kid, and became popular when "he" entered the basketball team, whoever, keeping such an act ended up being disastrous for her mental health. Her only salvation was her grandmother, and a girl who became her best friend and also saw the true person Arabella was.

There was a moment whoever, when Arabella decided to kill the role of Kobe, to stop living in the lie she had created to be safe from the world's stare. So, she took a risk, she went to the graduation in the loveliest dress she could find, and alongside her best friend (and girlfriend) everyone reactions were varied, but when one person decided to shame this decision, it was then when Arabella knew something was wrong.

A strong headache, and a sudden faint was all she felt. Soon, she was in a dark space, and she was only...energy, and in front of her was a being who could only be described as godly. This being proclaimed to be her family's god, and proclaimed her to be the next witch to become her worshipper... this god promised power, limitless, endless power, if they would only believe in them, forever and ever. It was this moment, in front of this god, who proclaimed her to be a witch, that marked her. Of course, she said yes.

The next events, she does not remember them well, some said flower and trees grew from her body, while the grass died on her feet. She only knows her best friend and one of her grandmother's friends, helped her leave.

All along, her grandmother knew this would happen, she knew she would become a witch. And of course, with this responsibility, she trained her, she teached her potions and hexes, and the arts of transformation, so she would become the one she always wished to be. Arabella decided to use this power for "justice" and helping people, and at first, it worked quite well, but her soul was tainted with revenge, for the injustice the world had served her. She thought she could be the one who judged them all. It all endled badly, of course. She ended up losing her best friend, and most of her family, though she had lost them at the very start of this.

When she lost everyone, she realized her mistake and dissapeared for a while. In the end, her father, usually so silent, ended saving her from who knows what she could have done. Her grandmother, died a few years after that. 

To rebuild her life, she ended up building a little magic shop, to help people, to really help them. Whoever, she still had a few issues to resolve from now on.

In the current universe, after all this, she ended up losing her powers due to her own impatience, since an enemy wizard cursed with at least 25 curses, of different natures. She tried to dispell this all at once, and ended up making the mess she's in right now.

Extras:

- She's the result of a quite cursed heritage, her grandmother was a specialist in curses and necromancy, and her mother was a specialist in healing and medicine. Her current likes are transformation, but even if her magic has no affinity, it is her being who's dual, it's very easy for her to be two things at a thing, and her life also seems to lead her in this direction.

-For example, she's trans. She lived up to 17 years of her life living as a male, yet never identifying as one, now she's living as a woman as she always desired. She technically has lived both sides of the binary. 

-At one moment, she cursed lot of people out of hate to humanity, now, she tries to help them in their problems and heal them if she can. 

-And can actually hurt people without really wanting to hurt them.

-So it seems life is taking her into experiencing "both extreme sides" of an issue, never quite acchieving neutrality. 

-Her sexuality is also like this, being panromantic, but demisexual is part of the ace spectrum.
