Thrasher (& Akane)

Thrasher (& Akane), The Violent Protector

"Please don't hurt them too much..."

Akane spent all her life in an Ionian orphanage. She spent most of her days spending time with and playing with the other children and dreaming of the day she would meet her new parents that would adopt her and bring her home. Over time, she would watch the other children come and go. Akane originally tried to not let this bother her, but each time it would break her heart. After a certain amount of time, Akane became disillusioned and started feeling she was never going to be adopted. The caretakers always assured her there was nothing wrong with her and that it would happen eventually. Akane didn't believe this however. She felt she was just naturally unwanted. Every day her dreams of living with a new family, growing up with their support, and doing what she needs to do in order to become a writer, continued to just be dreams. Weary with the world, Akane eventually ran away from the orphanage at the age of 10. It didn't take her long to find herself in trouble. Hours of walking through Ionian fields and forests, she ran into hostile wolves. To Akane's shock however, this wasn't the end for her. Something came out of almost nowhere to fend off the wolves. A large, purple, hulking creature like man that made weird, growling noises. Akane found herself terrified of the man. To her surprise, the man carried her away peacefully out of harm's way.

Thrasher isn't the man's real name. The man himself was once a Noxian man with a family a long time ago. The details are hazy to him but he remembers war taking it's toll on the country and eventually separating him. How he became so horribly corrupted by the Void is also hazy. It was so long ago. Now he wanders around Runeterra. He eventually found himself in Ionia because there was enough areas that he wouldn't be distrubed by humans who wanted him dead. One night he found himself running into a bizarre sight. A young girl all by herself about to be attacked by a pack of wolves. Not wanting any harm on this innocent girl, he attacked the wolves. This is no place for a young kid. 

For the past two years, Akane and the man continued to roam Ionia together. Akane came up with the name "Thrasher" as it was something he did often to anything that threatened her. Despite the bizarreness of their situations, a genuine bond was built between the two of them. Akane found the protective guardian figure she's always wanted, even if it wasn't how she envisioned it. She hopes to one day find her and Thrasher a new home as well as write children's storybooks. Thrasher found a new purpose in life, taking care of this young girl, taking care of someone who he now sees as family and reminds him of his family from so long ago. He wants to do what he can to keep this girl safe, but knows they can never have a proper, normal family life. Despite his struggles with keeping his sanity intact, he at least knows he'll never lay a hand on Akane. Thrasher can't speak, mostly growling and making weird, inhuman noises. Akane does all the talking, and has to constantly beg and plead for people to leave her guardian alone and to not do anything that will set him off. 

Thrasher means well, and is able to understand other common languages around him, but struggles to keep himself in tact. He sometimes will give into pure primal instinct when battling someone else. Despite his situation, he still tries his best to parent Akane despite the barriers. He tends to be very territorial and not trusting of others. Akane is a bit more emotionally mature than most children around her age due to her life to this point, but she's able to be very nice and still show signs of childlike wonder, such as her books, other kids in Runeterra, and her trusted Poro plushy that Thrasher has quite literally murdered people over. Akane can be cynical and weary, but she still behaves. She's also prone to anxiety whenever she feels Thrasher might be set off or angered by someone that poses no harm to either of them.

In gameplay, Thrasher travels around the map taking objectives and fighting enemy champs that pose danger to himself, Akane, and any of Akane's other friends (teammates). Akane accompanies him, following him around like the little legends follow champions in ARAM. Thrasher can link himself to certain allies (think Kindred/Rengar with enemies) and will gain certain buffs and empowered abilities when that ally is in danger.
