Frore

Frore was born on the most frigid day of the year, hence her name. As a child, she belonged to the Northguard tribe of High Bridge. Like many of her kind, Frore would have been trained to hunt the great titans of the Frozen North in order to help feed her clan, just as her mother before her - but things did not go as intended.

One day, when Frore was still young, an enslavement party passed through the North. In their wake, they left several of the northern tribes shattered and slaughtered, and many a shrine was destroyed. They spared only the children, who left their ruined families in halters and chains. When they came to High Bridge, even the fearsome Northguard could not hold against the terrifying ability of the slavers. Frore could not be saved.

For a few years, she was confined to the tunnels of the mines, searching for the clusters of precious stones that hid in the rocks. Her hide grew scarred from the abuse that she suffered at the will of her frustrated captors. With no hope of escaping this treatment, her spirit broke, and she resigned herself to it.

Eventually she grew too large and unwieldy to navigate the narrow tunnels. Instead she was made to cart crates of stone back and forth between the segments of the facility. While she is much less often abused by the slavers, she is forced to spend all of her idle time in a small cell, alone.

Though cynical and brash by nature, Frore has become timid and weak-willed after her abuse. She has no real desire to continue existing, inside or outside of the mines.
