02 — Personality
- very introverted and very much like a hermit at times. Vega can only come out at night, as she's too scared of the sunlight, worried she may get unwell under the rays again like she did as a child.
- despite this, Vega is actually fairly nice, if a bit shy. She's only known her family most of her life, but is always happy to meet others if possible. she's made friends in her life with vendors that remained open for her and her family in later hours.
- despite being stuck in the night, she finds happiness in waking up at sunset and stepping outside to see the world as twilight falls and the moon becomes the main attraction while the stars dot the sky. she essentially is a moon worshipper, believing that it's the moon that helps her magic and keeps her safe from harm. she's only slightly naïve in this aspect.
- Vega is almost always with her sibling, Aylin. it isn't a bad thing, she just trusts her brother more than most, but will rapidly warm up to someone, especially if Aylin is the one breaking the ice. if Aylin isn't there, she's a little more shy and reluctant, mostly because she knows how different she looks.
- despite being formally educated, she still doesn't know a lot about her own magic or what it does specifically. she just knows it helps her in the daylight, preventing her from becoming ill or injured.

03 — Background
- Vega was a first born to her parents.
- Allergic to uv radiation, she broke out in rashes in the sunlight all the time as a small child, and her parents could never figure it out. They only knew the sun was bad, and she was taught as such.
- Growing up, she was raised in the night to go out and take care of things, just as the sun began to disappear on the horizon. Many vendors and stalls were closed, but some remained open in their small town, and she found friends in the owners that sold her things when she went on runs as a small girl. At nine, she was a bright and happy young thing that always bought her favorite fruits from a grizzled farmer that always had some left for her.
- When her sibling - Aylin - was born, she was extremely jealous. Namely because Aylin could go outside and play in the sunlight that was so deadly to her. This didn't last too long, but long enough. Vega eventually grew to love her sibling more than anything.
- In her twenties, Vega realized her magic could help her, even though she had no idea how.
- Vega studied her own magic, and any books she could get a hold of, learning everything she could. Her frequent visits to libraries garnered some interest and a mage eventually took her under their proverbial wings to teach her. This meant her going to nightly teachings by this mage, who was sympathetic to her plight of being plagued by the sun.
- She settled to just still going out at night, just in case. She's still close with Aylin, even letting them move in with her when they were older.

04 — Magic
UV Radiation Manipulation
Vega doesn't know how her magic works, just that it deals with the sun and sunlight.
In actuality, Vega can harness UV radiation in a way that is extremely useful to her. She knows her magic shields her from the sun, if she can make it through a whole day using it.
She essentially creates a barrier around her that keeps the UV from reaching her actual skin, and in turn, it basically looks like she's a walking photoshop, unable to absorb any light except in the gleaming jewelry she wears. Her feathers are normally not a problem, and thus do not have a barrier, showing actual color.
Progression of Power
- will eventually be able to be out in the sun longer: minutes, hours, indefinitely

- will be able to see things that others cannot (like it's under a black light)
- will be able to harness the UV and actually burn enemies
- will be able to damage eyes
- with enough discipline, will eventually have total immunity to ultraviolet radiation and be able to walk in the sun again without pain

- Magic is weakened under specific circumstances - Vega has a harder time using her magic at night.
