A couple hundred years ago, a child was born with a special ability. Soon many children started to be born with these powers, called quirks. As it stands now, only 1/5 of the population are born without a quirk and it's theorized that there will come a day where no one will ever be quirkless.

Isaac West, however, was born without a quirk. He always wanted one. He wanted to be a hero more than anything, but no one thought he would be because he had no power to offer the public. His best friend, Dante, was born with a fire quirk, making him incredibly powerful and talented from a young age. The boys relied on one another while growing up due to tough family circumstances. That is, until Dante's father died in a hero accident which left Dante incredibly depressed and, even more so, angry. He took this anger out on Isaac and his self-hatred during this period of his life forced Isaac away, breaking their friendship. They continued to grow up near one another, but without the same level of trust and closeness as they once had.

In their teens there was a large villain incident where Dante was targeted on the streets by a villain. Despite being quirkless, Isaac tried to defend his friend and was brutally hurt in the process. The boys' favorite hero--Iron Phoenix, the best-known hero in the country--arrived to save the day. Upon seeing Isaac and hearing of how he had tried to save his friend despite having no abilities, she drew on her healing power to save him, and transferred her ability to him in the process.

Now bearing a quirk of his own, Isaac trained alongside Iron Phoenix as her protege. He managed to get into the famous hero school UA just like Dante did and the two became classmates. Their friendship sloly started to rekindle and they grew close with their other classmates as well. All the while, there is a villainous uprising brewing in the background, threatening the stability of their school years--or even the world itself.
