A traveling necromancer who knows everything about death & souls, you definitely have bumped into Azrael before. While very charismatic and usually likeable, he does tend to gossip about everyone he has worked with no matter how much he enjoyed their presence. Azrael also tends to be smug and arrogant, thinking he’s above people due to his abilities. Due to this, he tends to be solitary and doesn’t like traveling with people for too long. Despite this, he works with Maddox under a special contract.

His general behavior and allure makes it easy for people to gravitate towards him. Azrael generally seems to have good energy, although only the most observant people can truly see what he’s up to…
Likeable
Who wouldn’t like someone who just wants to allow people to see their dead loved ones one last time? He seems to do it all for great intentions, but…
Love for gossip
Azrael entertains himself the most by gossiping about the people he travels and works with, aside from his job of course. He enjoys seeing the drama caused by said gossip, even if it ends with something as catastrophic as crimes being committed, because that means more work for him. And, he enjoys his job very much. Luckily, his gossiping isn’t always bad, and sometimes it’s a way for him to give people more business too.
Superiority
With him being generally liked for his job, his charisma and his abilities , Azrael does tend to think he’s better than everyone else. But, to keep his charisma, he doesn’t really let anyone know and appears to be very confident instead of smug.
Solitary
Part of him does not want to be around people for too long, otherwise they will start “tainting” his image, so Azrael is often traveling alone. He does however like to tag along other travelers for fun then use what he knows about them as ammo for gossip.
Story
A terrible curse…
Even with Azrael very reluctant to share his past, some of it managed to leak from previous acquaintances or from records. It is rumored that before becoming very dissociated with people around him in general, he was madly in love with a sophisticated noble that manipulated him into giving up everything for their sake. During the short relationship, Azrael had committed many different crimes with his powers & with his trusty dagger, but it wasn’t until he attempted to kill a powerful entity for his love that things started biting him.
The attempt horribly failed and caused him to be cursed with the inability to interact with any of his close ones and with some form of immortality. Since then, Azrael continued his job as a necromancer that takes care of the souls of the dead as a way to redeem himself. But, whether he would be able to redeem himself without causing anything bad by trying to befriend others will be a mystery…

Basic abilities
Azrael has exceptional night vision and hearing. However, he doesn't seem to smell very well and will often mistake smells. Other than that, he isn't exactly exceptional in physical fighting. Azrael does shine in ranged fights, though, and seem to be able to use fire to a lesser extent and manipulate the darkness. He isn't the best at manipulating these elements and would much rather use his specialty magic to fight.
Necromancy & soul manipulation
Necromancy is something Azrael masters. He has the particular ability to decide the fate of the souls he bumps into: either they get taken care of by him and they get an opportunity to see their loved ones that are still alive or they get permanently erased from existence. Typically, Azrael uses his lantern to lure souls in while using the little knife on his leg to kill them off permanently. He can also use their powers for fighting, typically turning them into magic weapons or using them as magic attacks.

- He's a very light eater. In fact, it's rare to see him eat or drink anything in the first place. Everyone wonders if he needs anything to survive at all?
- Azrael has a certain habit of wagging his tail when he's gossiping. No one understand why.
- The patterns on his clothing can move around. No one knows if this is because of Azrael's magic or because there are actual souls trapped in his clothes.
- It's very rare for him to show his hands. But, if someone is lucky enough to see them, they would notice that his hands are clawed.
