Reynard and her brother Azeria were both born from a modest family in the Dessarim valley. So modest in fact, that their parents contracted a huge debt with the Zentharims, a criminal faction made up of assassins and spies, operating everywhere on the continent. When their parents became too old to work and earn enough to pay back their debts, Reynard and her brother decided to enroll with the Zentharims and work for them in order to pay back what they owe.
They worked for them for many years, until a terrible accident. During a trafficking mission in the Waterdeeps waters, their ship was attacked by vicious marine creatures and Reynard's brother was lost, never to be found again. But the mission always had priority and the couldn't even retrieved his body.
Despite being still very traumatized by that event, she had to go back to the Zentharim base of operation, alone this time. After such a debacle, she knows she won't be allowed any more mistakes, and her mentor Nalaskur will keep her eye on her.
She has another chance however to prove herself to her mentor, an undercover mission to infiltrate the Lord's Alliance, another faction made up of nobles and and political figures making alliances in order to protect themselves and the commercial agreements.
In order to do so she created a persona to stay undercover.

True identity : Reynard, a cunning shadar-kai working for the Zentharim, she will do anything to prove herself and keep her parents out of the misery, though the loss of her brother made her bitter and resentful

False identity : Proserpine de Clairebois, a noble elf who has been drafted into the Alliance by her parents, she doesn't know much about this outside world and is a bit of an airhead
