He was raised at the temple with great expectations, being the son of the High Priest, as he was destined to follow after his father and become the High priest himself after him. Thus he was always treated differently than his peers. Praised and revered by adults when it wasn't earned, but also envied and despised by the other acolytes. Despite his popularity he lived a rather lonely life at the temple. Reading Lathandre, praying Lathander, talking about lathandre.. breathing Lathander. All day Everyday, for the best part of his life. He sometimes dared to imagine what his life would've been without Lathandre, but he ended up blaming himself for thinking such blaspehmous thoughts. After all he is the light, he is the hope, he's the one allowing him to help so many people. He doesn't feel like he deserves his cleric title and that i was just handed it to him. 

However he still found solace in something : History and Archaeology. As he rumaged through the old library in the temple, a book on Archaeomancy caught his eye and he was completely fascinated with the discipline. Learning all about the whole history of a site, how it was made, how the people lived back then, learning all about what humanoids accomplished, even without the help of gods, was captivating. His dream would be to join the prestigious Strixhaven University, in the Lorehold College and learn all that he can on Faeruninan history. But he knows his life his already all planned out for him, and it doesn't include a trip to the University.

When he's out and about, he puts on his mask of social benevolence and deep devotion with a big shiny smile but he is a deeply melancholic and fatalist soul at heart.

He recently learned about a village, stuck in the moutains, that witnessed a terrible accident in its mines. And it seemed that no one had ever researched that place ! He could be the first to make a discovery about what happened to this town ! Completely enthralled by the idea, he left the temple with a vague excuse and set for the village on his own. He would deal with the consequences later....
And during this exploration, that is where he met the other membres of the Candlekeep Party
