APPEARANCE

Cronan walks on all fours. He is twenty one feet in length and four feet tall at the shoulders. His orange and yellow frill on his neck is expandable, and at rest is flat against his body. Some of his teeth protude from his mouth like tusks.

PERSONALITY

Cronan is feared by local tribes, seen as a bloodthirsty demon that kills anyone that wanders into the jungle alone at night. If hungry when prey is scarce, Cronan will raid villages after dark for food but will not target any tribe members, somewhat confused by buildings. He is solitary in nature and will respond aggressively to all other animals. Being raised in a lab, he is curious of most of the things he comes across in the outside world. He stalks creatures to simply watch them, though will eventually take the opportunity for food. Unexperienced in life, Cronan is actually easily scared of new things, especially loud noises or fast movements. Most would think Cronan is rather intelligent, but he is the opposite. He sticks only to what has worked for him in the past, and getting into contained areas and such is mostly by luck.

STORY

Cronan was created in a lab, hidden in the depths of the jungles of the Southern Isles. The scientists there belonged to the Athirene Dynasty and were interested in the way the tribes would sometimes use dinosaurs as weapons of war; which lead to the original concept of the Dynasty using beasts for war. When enough observation had been carried out, the lab took a darker turn. It started to create hybrids, mostly dinosaurs, in search of the strongest creature. Many specimens were too dangerous to be released if deemed unsuccessful. Once room at the lab starting running out, these creatures were used in fights to access the power of new hybrids, often dying as a result. Cronan was planned to be a stealthful pack hunter that could be used to invade enemy territory under the cover of night. He was a success.

However, another specimen managed to escape. It tore through the lab, damaging the building and allowing other creatures to escape, including Cronan. After no word was heard from the lab, the Dynasty investigated. When they discovered what happened, they immediately ordered the hunting and killing of these creatures to cover up their experiments. Most were killed, but a handful remain in the Southern Isles. Rumours emerged of unusual creatures, but the outside world regarded them as nothing more than a myth. Researchers who come to investigate these legends happen to mysteriously vanish or end up dead.

Cronan continues to terrorise the islands. Locals tell stories of a creature of many names to keep children and travelers safe, the beast silently stalks and hunts those who wander off into the jungle alone at night. One survivor is known, who obsessively speaks of a black demon with a yellow frill. Many believe Cronan hunts for sport, but in reality he is a feral creature hunting to survive.
