Fen

Born and raised in Hakum Village. Main Monstie is a Rathian named Freya.

Descendant of the founder, hence the last name. Used to lead the rest of the village children on wild adventures. Found an injured boy named Lute in the woods at age 4 who would end up becoming his best friend/partner. Left Hakum at age 11 together with Lute to resolve the situation with the Black Blight. Still traumatized by dealing with the situation at such a young age as well as Cheval and Lilia abandoning him and Lute in his eyes.

Helped Lute in solving the situation with the Black Blight, did not fight Makili Pietru himself, but dealt with blighted monsters all over while it happened. Gets called a Legendary Rider because of it, but does not really consider himself such, always tries to defer to Lute when the title comes up.

After the situation, split up from everyone else to explore and train to become stronger. Ended up on a different continent and got ambushed by poachers who captured him and his Rathian. Got handed over to a group working on a plan to dominate the continent. Got separated from his Rathian and ended up being brainwashed to be used as a general to command an army of monsters. Was paired with a Dreadqueen Rathian during that time. Ended up getting rescued by Rhyme, a rider from Hakolo Island, who was exploring the same continent.

Afterwards returned to the continent housing both Hakum and Hakolo, eventually meeting back up with Lute as well as Cheval and Lilia. Eventually registered with the Hunting Guild as a proper hunter to research monsters more closely (and legally). Helped explore the New World, solve the mystery of the Everstream, as well as faced Shara Ishvalda with the help of Lute, as well as Roy and Kip whom he met during his time in the New World.

Got relocated to Kamura aftewards where he assisted in holding off the Rampage as well as taking down both Ibushi and Narwa. Soon after got called to Elgado to help with the emergence of Qurio as well as the unusual movements of Malzeno. Helped resolve the situation there, eventually taking down Gaismagorm together with the other hunters.

Nowadays he travels between Elgado and the New World, following tips about new monsters or unusual Elder Dragon behavior. Still hunts quite actively, though he maintains that he is a Rider above a Hunter still. Works with the Ecological research branch of the guild, providing helpful insight about the behaviors of some monsters, as well as rearing many specimens for research.

❖ AFFILIATIONS:

Lute Tide - Childhood Friend/Partner. Unclear which. Have been raised together and gone through many things. Notably, Fen's Rathian Freya appears to have chosen Lute's Dreadking Rathalos Rath as her mate.

Freya - His Monstie. A sturdy Rathian he hatched at the beginning of his journey. About as strong as a Dreadqueen, despite her appearance.

Rath - Lute's Dreadking Rathalos. They share a close enough bond to where Fen can command him as if he were his own Monstie.

Roy Suzuki-Kohler - Fellow hunter and research partner. One of the few people Fen trusts aside from Lute.

Kippari "Kip" Miwyrm - Archivist, hunter, researcher. Fen trusts him despite their occasional skirmishes.

Paru ??? - A fellow rider. Introduced to him through Lute. They occasionally swap tips about monster rearing.

Rhyme ??? - Rider from Mahana Village on Hakolo Island. The two of them met when Rhyme helped break him free of his brainwashing on a different continent. They correspond through letters. Fen views Rhyme as a younger sibling despite Rhyme being about the same age.

Cheval ??? - Fellow Rider from Hakum Village. Their relationship is heavily strained due to Cheval's actions during their childhood. Fen has slowly forgiven him, but they never re-established the bond they used to have.

Lilia ??? - Royal Commander of the Scriveners. They used to be inseparable as children, but after the events of the Black Blight, Fen was cold to her. He started to warm back up, only to be informed about the situation that happened with Rhyme, who was the Rider in charge of Ratha together with his cousin during the events surrounding Oltura. Has been very slow to forgive her since.

Other Monsties - Fen owns a considerable amount of different Monsties, most of them strewn accross different cities. Notable ones include but are not limited to: Freyr - Ice element Rathalos, Tipsy - Water element Deviljho, Lulu - Electric Palamute, Eve - Dreadqueen Rathian, Lilith - Pink Rathian, Piccolo - Silver Rathalos (Egg given to him by Lute)
