Unicorns. Fairies. Mermaids. Princesses in their towers, and those running away from their mothers. All are written and documented from oral tales of the past. They’ve changed and morphed through the times to reflect the moral ideologies and beliefs of the current society. It’s a childish thing to some and others it opens the avenue of conversation of anthropological documentation of civilizations that have long gone and sociological studies into the now.
One, in particular, is Adelaide Birnbaum, a recent Ph.D. graduate from the University of Munich and a previous attendant at HPU, under the title ultimate fairytale researcher. Her dissertation on the integration of the unicorn and how it highlights a women’s need for purity to survive has been published in the highest accredited literary review magazines alongside having done many TedTalks on the topic. She is regarded as the most well-versed in her topic of study despite only being 26.
