She's a Farmer who lives in Stardew Valley, at the farm just outside Pelican Town, spending much of her time working there and occasionally socialising with the villagers.
She was designed to be a potential girlfriend/wife for Haley, someone who shows her that farm life is fun, but this can be changed.

Legally, her name is Silvia! But, she prefers Ivy. Its short and sweet!
