Simon is from a dystopian future wherein corporations discover humans naturally produce a usable energy source and are farmed. He uses he/him pronouns, is unusually small from consistent malnutrition and muscle atrophy, and occasionally uses a walking aid.
Simon is a creative and cheerful person, masking his haunted past with natural curiosity. He likes being active but struggles to do so occasionally, but he often drags others into his antics. He's full of questions and loves the company of others, and rarely sleeps. He likes to say he's "making up for lost time", but in reality he's deathly afraid of loneliness and getting stuck drifting from dream to dream once again. He sometimes gets distant and withdrawn, but he and Sky talk often and support one another.
Simon was once a Source, one of the few who were able to naturally produce high amounts of Spark, the energy. He was drugged and drifted through sleep for years, catching occasional glimpses of reality, until he was accidentally unplugged by Sky. They get to know one another, but as Simon's productivity decreases as he spends more time awake he is slotted for disposal, so Sky and Simon escape together and join a rebel group determined to take down the Source System and restore their human rights. Sky and Simon now help run the rebellion.
Simon is generally weak but does physical therapy often, and thus often spearheads technical or organizational aspects of the rebellion while supporting Sky who takes care of the more actively physical aspects.
