She's the 1st born.
She's a canine but her movements are very elegant, like of a cat.

She loves to discover the world and to meet new people and new cultures.
Rabbi and Coray often quarrel but Rabbi always gives in.
She has a strained relationship with May even though Rabbi is her only friend. They fight quite often but their relationship gets better over time.
She has a good relationship with Usagi and Tobi.

When Rabbi was little, she sneaked into a garden of an old and uninhabited windmill on the verge of Vienna.
The name of the windmill was "Teufelsmühle" (= Devil's Mill). In the past this place was the scene of many crimes. It was forbidden to enter it ever again.
As her sisters tried to hold her back, it was already too late: The devil, who lived there, cursed the sister and disappeared.
Since that day, it is possible for the sisters to change their appearance in any animal they want [Shapeshifter].
Rabbi sees no disadvantages in the curse and loves her abilities (but she uses it less and less as time goes on). They don't know about the true meaning of the curse yet...
But Coray is very angry about that curse and blames Rabbi for her misfortune. Coray believes that the curse had an unpleasant side-effect: They lost their ability to love and be loved in return. Even though Rabbi often tells her that this is just not true...!
So they made the windmill to their new home and hope to find a solution to get rid of the curse.

One day her sister Coray met a witch and that changed their life (that's when they got their "human"-forms):
