Charlie Morningstar (RP)

Charlotte "Charlie" Morningstar, the whimsical Disney Princess of Hell, has a dream to share. She aims to rehabilitate sinners at her Hazbin Hotel (previously known as the "Happy Hotel"). Charlie is upbeat and never seems to be in one place at a time, constantly adapting to circumstances. She is a diligent worker inspired by her father's passion and plans to fulfill the dreams her father could not. Charlie might be naive, but she makes up for it through her drive, kindness, and patience toward others. She regards all Sinners as her people, and the Hazbin Hotel as her family. 

Charlie Morningstar appeared on 666 News to present her idea of redemption to the people of Hell. She was instantly laughed out of the studio; the thought of Sinners changing for the better was ridiculous. Her only supporters were her girlfriend, Vaggie, and a reluctant porn star called Angel Dust who promised to stay at the Hotel as long as it was rent-free. That was when the hotel received a sponsor-- the Radio Demon, Alastor who didn't believe in her cause, but wanted to support Charlie allegedly due to "boredom". Alastor brought along Hotel personnel in the form of Husk the bartender and Niffty the maid. 

During the main series, Charlie meets with Adam (the first man) to discuss her ideas of redemption. She is again rejected and Extermination is pushed forward from a year to six months. In that time, Charlie: reunited with her father, found out her girlfriend was a former exorcist, made a deal with Alastor ("a favor where she hurts no one"), and defeated Adam in defense of the Hotel. 

• Charlie was a theatre kid throughout Hellschool. It's where she took acting and improv classes that she is very proud of. 
• Charlie was a sheltered Princess who went to school with other hellish royalty. Both Lilith and Lucifer protected her for separate reasons. (Lucifer wanted to protect her, Lilith tried to make her easier to manipulate). 
• Charlie is a massive weeaboo for human culture. She wants to learn as many languages and cultural origins as possible to better relate to Sinners. 
• Charlie is secretly powerful being a Nephalem with untapped potential. This is the potential Alastor sees in her and is slowly guiding her to full power. 
• She considers Rosie as a mother figure in Lilith's absence.

Charlie’s eyes sparkled as she looked upon the newest Sinner to enter the hotel. “What do you need to talk about?”

”I don’t really understand what happened to me.”

Charlie nodded with vigor, “Okay, we’ll take it from the top.” She led the Sinner into their new room, completely furnished with ornate apple designs on the walls.

”This is a lovely place, by the way. I didn’t know you could get places like this in Hell.” Said the Sinner.

Charlie sat on the couch and patted the spot beside her for the Sinner to sit down. She lowered her voice, her eyebrows furrowed with sympathy. “What’s the last thing you remember?”

“Memory’s never been my strong suit. I guess it was a car headed for me.”

Charlie winced. “Thaaaat was my limo. I’m sorry, I’m glad you’re still here! No Sinner has ever permanently died from getting hit by a car,” She felt the back of her neck with her eyes adverted. “But I still feel really bad about it.”

The Sinner shook their head, ”Oh, it’s fine. Hardly the first time for me. Died permanently?”

“Sinners, what I think you are anyway, don’t really die. They’re immortal unless there’s a holy weapon involved. We tend to keep those things out of the way for guests though.” Charlie hated talking about the bad aspects of being a freshly fallen Sinner but felt the context was important even if it was frightening. She quickly switched up the subject, going to another concern. “So you don’t remember your human life at all?“

”…  No, er. I remember it. As well as I ever did, I guess. Will that go away?”

“Your memories? No, I don’t think so. You’ll have to forgive me, I was born here in Hell so I don’t know everything about Sinners. But I can try! I’ve done as much field research as I can.” She went into her breast pocket and took out a folded piece of paper labelled “SINNER FACTS” in bright red gel pen. She unfolded it. 

“You’re a bird  because it’s symbolic” Charlie enunciated like a scholar, “of how you died. I just think it’s neat that it’s up to interpretation. That reminds me of an art exercise we can do for therapy if you’re interested!” Her aura was golden and sparkling, utterly irresistible. It was clear that with every word she said she said with the upmost sincerity and warmth.

The Sinner nodded, floating toward another thought they had in mind. “Huh. I always found Heaven and Hell to be tenuous.”

“Tenuous.” Charlie repeated, feeling the word in her mouth. “What do you mean?”

"Yeah. You don't get in if you've got the wrong religion in life, but there's nothing to really guide you on the 'right' path aside from an overbearing church that wants to make you feel guilty for being human, you get tossed out of Heaven for believing the wrong thing or, like, questioning the top dog, and I reckon it doesn't take mm… systematic oppressions into account when it's determined who goes to Heaven or Hell. Seems like it's more worthwhile to make Hell a better place if you ask me. Course, I only just got here."

Charlie stared wide-eyed and blinking.

“I lost you, didn’t I?”
