Appearance

Almadine appears as a maroon Island Devil, which is in effect a winged anthromorphic goat, with a lighter belly, wrists and ankles and darker maroon rings on his wrists and ankles. His wings are bright pink-red and tattered. Unlike most Island Devils however, he had large branched horns, akin to antlers, and a small deer-like tail. His black teeth jut out over his lips and he has a dark maroon “goatee”. His eyes are typically hooded and bright pink with sideways cuttlefish-like pupils. There is a dark maroon marking on his forehead that is, in truth, a third eye.

Alma dresses elegantly with a long purple coat with a flared collar, a v-neck purple shirt under and a black choker and belt.

Personality

Almadine carries himself above his mortal peers, truthfully seeing himself as better than them. He is aloof, snarky and arrogant. He often helps others but is happy to let others believe he did it for his own selfishness or because he was bored. Yet, he holds a soft spot for the Saturn Devils and fugitive Island Devils, often genuinely providing assistance. He is often bored and seeks entertainment in whatever he desires or what might interest him. He refuses to talk about himself or his feelings, leading the rare people who are close to him speculate he has deeper feelings than he lets on.

History

Almadine, or Alma as he prefers to be called, is an exceptional specimen: a demonic demigod. He was formed after the sundering of the Satchu Peninsula from Saturnia and the agony of its god, Charon. As a result, he also was formed with a portion of his divine essence. Alma was left in Saturnia where he has been since. And he hasn’t made any attempt on going to Satchu for reasons he keeps to himself. In truth, its in part of his shame towards the Island Devils and in part in not knowing what may happen if he reunited with his divine progenitor. He’s since stayed in Saturnia, doing whatever he desires of his own free will.

Nowadays, he’s grown an interest in GIEM, the Guild Investigating Eccentric Matters and has taken to helping them with their investigations. If he’s doing this just to amuse himself or if he has some deeper motive, no one in the guild can guess—or dares ask.

Skills

Alma’s unique status gives him a wide variety of esoteric abilities. He can manipulate earth and water to a limited degree, abilities that he attributes to his demonic heritage. He can use illusion magic, often to disguise himself or to trick others’ perception. He has limited psychic abilities, able to speak telepathically with others and to use psychic suggestion. He can change to a larger, more demonic form though he rarely uses it.

Trivia

• The “spot” on Alma’s head is actually a closed third eye which only opens when he expends great power.
