Profile

Tek is a rodent-esque creature who is excellent at sneaking his way into places he shouldn't, and talking himself back out again.

In his home universe, Tek was a deity-child of a mortal and the deity of thieves. Tek grew up on the fringes of his parents lives, never accepted into the thieves temple fully, but never being able to live a mortal life either. He was a permanent outcast in his universe. This universe was eventually destroyed, but Tek managed to utilise the instinctual magic within him to escape, and now lives as a universe-hopper, exploring aimlessly as he wrestles with his deity flaws and mortal weaknesses.

As a half-deity, Tek possesses some innate magical connection. His natural power is nowhere near the level of any minor deity, for most of his magic Tek relies on artefacts, spells or other aids. Tek does possess some natural charming abilities, and with the right tools he can hypnotise people pretty successfully. Most of Tek's magic is focused on universe-hopping or manipulation (of others... and their wills).

Tek needs worship to stay alive, but his heritage means he is not recognised as a deity by many (and therefore it is unnatural for most mortals to worship him), and too unfamiliar with the more subtle arts of worship to take any benefit from them. Tek often hypnotises or otherwise manipulates mortals into a traditional worship of him, taking control of their minds and forcing the unlucky mortals he comes across into the devoted prayer and idolatory required to keep him alive and powerful.
His manipulation of wills and souls leads to him being treated as a pest by most deities, and chased out of any universe he inhabits for too long.

Tek is fairly generous. He enjoys lavish things, but enjoys them even more when he can lavish them upon others. Those he forces into worship of him he treats well, and affords them any luxuary he can provide. This, he feels, justifies his hypnotism, though many of his victims would disagree.

Tek is a largely harmless creature. He steals worship from unwilling participants, but he never harms them, and is the first to shy away from conflict. He is a pest, but an irrelevant one. One day Tek hopes to either fully embrace his mortality and remove the need for any sort of worship, or indeed become fully divine, and no longer have to beg and steal the attention of other's subjects.
