Profile

Saw Taz selling this pretty baby on their Ko-Fi and I had to snag them up the moment I saw them cause they hit all of my aesthetics. Decided to combine this design with the Earth ToD design I was in the middle of working on, hence why I added myself as a designer.
Her original design was inspired by the Green Wave Tulip. I tried to keep as much of the original design and inspiration intact as much as I could with the redesign. I hope that shows.

I'm absolutely smitten with this girl and I'll probably end up making her a ToD sona of sorts? Sounds about right.

Possible Roles: Civilian; Background Character, or any other role you'd like to give her! You can even have her have ties to the main cast, or keep her solely to the background; up to you! It's your comic after all! C:
Max Injury Status: Dead; Beat the shit out of her if you like! You can have her get beaten up, corrupted, even killed if you want! Or you can keep her alive if you want, up to you! I'm more interested in seeing how you'd want to use her rather than having a set role in mind for her! C:
Character Theme: 'Creep' - mxmtoon

Backstory:
Obviously not from Warfang, Apothiel sticks out like a sore thumb given her accent and mannerisms. With her family having been some of the few dragons living in Darkwood, Apothiel was primarily raised amongst the Fauns and Cheetahs that lived there. She comes from a family who took up the Apothecary trade from the Fauns and Cheetahs in order to help tend to lesser illnesses and wounds in order to persevere crystal resources and rations- hence her name- as her parents were hoping she'd take up the family trade. Despite coming from a broken household after her father died from a terminal illness, she enjoyed learning about the trade and kept up with her studies with plans to take over the family business.
However when things got out of hand with her family just before her 18th birthday, she was forced to move to Warfang to live with some extended family. Once the paperwork was finished and Apothiel became an official member of Warfang society, she finished the last bit of her schooling, gaining her Intermediate (Grade 3) GED. After that, her extended family helped her start up an Apothecary business here in Warfang. That was until the mandated guard service was put into effect and she was forced to serve. While she was forced to serve, her extended family that did not need to serve helped tend to her shop for her to keep it up and running. She hated guard service as the guard was no place for someone as shy and as timid as her. Needless to say, she's quite happy to hear that the mandated guard service is being lifted.

Personality:
Very self-conscious and anxious; has very little self-confidence and tends to stutter and mumbles when she talks. Often looks down as well, as eye contact is hard for her to keep. Has a lot of self-worth issues, and constantly puts others before herself. Kind, sweet, selfless, and soft spoken, Apothiel is more often than not seen in the background rather than in the spotlight. However she can really open up to show her sunny, silly, and cheerful side when around those she trusts; gaining her trust is the hard part though. Tends to worry a lot and unfortunately suffers from emotional shutdowns when her PTSD from her broken household is triggered and panic attacks when she feels threatened and overwhelmed. Gets overstimulated a lot and constantly needs to remove herself from stressful and emotionally difficult situations; running the front counter of her Apothecary business shows this in full effect. Prefers to run supplies for the business or work behind the counter creating medicines rather than filling orders and prescriptions. Can and will talk for hours on end about Apothecary practices and Botany, as well as the Language of Flowers if asked about said topics. Often feels like she doesn't belong and struggles to make long term relationships and shows great difficulties in engaging in social situations and keeping her place in said social situations; often gets talked over or even pushed out of conversations if not in a environment with preestablished relationships and people she's comfortable with.

Character Note(s):
- Hates her two-toned heterochromia eye (her right eye), her fangs, and the spots on her tongue and pawpads; she thinks they make her look "weird and ugly" (Her words, not mine! I think they make her beautiful ;; ).
- Crushes easily; currently has crushes on two different dragons. She refuses to say who or tell them or anyone else though, as she's embarrassed by it and doesn't think they'd like her back or that she's "worthy enough" to have them possibly like her back (Heh heh heh >:3C).
- Enjoys hand drawing her notes on the ingredients she uses; has her own personal notebook filled with her own drawings and documents for all the shops ingredients and she can often be found writing and/or drawing in it at times behind the counter, especially when taking stock.
- Taps her front feet in rhythmic patterns to songs she likes when anxious and stressed in order to try to focus on the songs she's imitating rather than what's stressing her out.
- Has a huge appreciation for hard-workers and creative types. Highly respects Oxintus and the Fyre Forge for this reason. Also highly respects the Moles for their digging capabilities due to her uncle working in the mines with a mole mining company.
- Sometimes hangs around Fyre Forge for specific Apothecary tools and to ask Oxintus for advice when it comes to owning a shop and running your own business.
- Softly hums and sings when she's alone as she has a wonderful singing voice; she especially sings when she's behind the counter making prescriptions. She can even sometimes be found bobbing her head and even dancing slightly while she sings and works. Really loves all kinds of music; wanted to learn how to play an instrument when she was younger but could never afford one. Is too scared to try to learn one now. A shame she'll most likely never share her musical talents with anyone.
- Loves fish and seafood so much! If she could, she would eat seafood all the time. She also very much loves tea and uses her Apothecary and Botany knowledge to make herself special tea blends that she shares with her closest friends and family.

Other Note(s):
- Apothiel's family tree is kind of messy as it's based off of my own family tree. I have a lot of extended family that I love as if they were my blood family.
- I made her uncle work in the mining industry due to that fact that my uncle- whom he is loosely inspired by- has a huge affinity for dwarves in any given fantasy setting. Since dwarves love to mine, making him work in the mining industry seemed like a fitting little nod to dwarves.
- Apothiel's mother's name is a reference to Lord of the Rings (Galadriel) as that's my mother's favorite Lord of the Rings character. Her father's name is a reference to The Witcher series (Geralt), as I love The Witcher and Geralt a lot and I'd like to think my dad would've liked the series and the character if he had been around to have been introduced to it.
- Apothiel's niece's name 'Emberthyst' comes from my niece's D&D character; Amethyst, a Druid Half-Elf who has purple eyes, hence the name.
